What do you do when you can not sleep at night ?

I have had problems sleeping at night, my mind is racing and I have to go to work in the morning. Right now I'm on mylot because I can't get any ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's. Got any remedies or ideas?

Hello,aladnzane,i seldome suffer from insomnia,when i cannot sleep at the night time,i will have a hot water bathm ,then i will drink a bottle of warm milk,after that,i will have a masaage on the front of my head and two sides of my eyes,it really works well and i will feel sleepy after that and fall asleep soon,may be you can try whether it works for you or not. hey nice things but i am not having any habbit of taking bath at nite before going to bed and i dnt like drinking milk but if it is hot i hate it, yeah but i can think of massage ...lets have massage tonite

1. The oldest..count sheep 2. read something really boring which would put you to sleep 3. Listent to some soothing music (always a sleep inducer for me) 4. Do some meditation - it will calm your nerves.

well sir, u knw i am having this problem so much ...i dnt knw how to get rid of that...but usually when i dnt have a sleep so i just listen songs and read horror books becoa then i became frightned and cover myself under the blanket and sleep....lol

haha, That's really funny...hehe Well...earlier i was able to sleep properly without any hiccups at night, but from past 1 week i am not able to and the reason for this you already know.... Now-a-days i am awake atleast to 1AM-2AM and sometimes till 3AM also... I hope i will also get rid of this soon.

Well I work on mylot or read a book if that doesn't work I watch the late night talk shows until I get sleepy.

Well sleeping pills are no good, thats for sure. You will feel more tired in the morning. I usually lay in bed and watch TV, and try to chill so I don't think about anything. When I do lay my head down. I try to think about nice things. Humm... pehaps you could fantize about something ( and no I didn't neccesaraly mean a woman lol). I bet halfway through you will fall asleep. It distacts the mind from everyday life and problems.

I'm sorry to hear that! I'm in the same boat. With all the advice I gather from the forums, I'm trying hot milk, hot bath, prayer and mediation now. Can't say it is already working. Hi aladnzane. I too have trouble sleeping and have tried many different things. Here are some things that have helped me at times: 1. If I'm thinking about a task I have to do or should have done I do it. If I am stressing about balancing the check book or cleaning the house, I get out of bed and do it. It usually lets me relax enough to get back to sleep. 2. I try to take a warm bath before bed. 3. Use calming fragrances like vanilla and lavender to soothe you. 4. Play calm or instrumental music, whatever your fancy. 5. Read a book. 6. Pray 7. Get a sleep schedule set. If you try to go to bed at the same time every night and follow a routine, it helps your body to set to sleep mode. 8. Try a non-habit forming sleep aid. I hope some of this helps.
