Do you enjoy Leader Weekends?

Our area tries to have at least one Leader Weekend each year and sometimes two. I really enjoy these special weekends. Many leaders and co-leaders come to camp together overnight. We socialize. We get to know each other and learn from each other. We gather new ideas and try out new projects. We sing songs, play games and share stories. We hike and build fires. We relax and enjoy camp without the stress and responsibility of taking the entire troop. This year we are planning on having a chocolate fountain with fruits to dip in it. hmmm :) We always eat wonderful things like ice cream bon bons, donuts and eclairs. We also explore healthy eating but it is not as much fun. This is a wonderful way to get yourself recharged and to avoid burn-out. What do you do for yourself as a Girl Scout Leader? How do you avoid being burnt out?

I have never been to one. Our council has one every year, but I don't think I want to pay that much. Our area does not have one, but it would be an idea! Right now we do not even have an area manager. The service team is doing well enough with out one, and I think someone may step up for next year. I hope that will mean more events. We use to have one EVERY month, but lately we have not had that.

Well girl, maybe you should plan a simple overnight slumber party for the leaders in your area. Make it potluck and have everyone bring some kind of snack to share. Have fun.
