What kind of Mylot discussion do you think deserves over 100 responses?

I had one about "choosing to have an only child" that got 125 responses, about 4 months ago. I think that's the best I've done. Personally, I think discussions on things that just about everyone can relate to usually get the most responses. Probably things about decisions we all make (like how many kids to have, if any) or about products that everyone uses in some way or other. However, many times when I start a discussion, I'm not thinking about how many responses I'm going to get so much as finding out other people's opinions about something. I've started many discussions on things like religion which don't garner as many responses, but do lead to some interesting discussion. I think that's more important to me overall.

I don't know too, Yan. If I posted a discussion that I really thought of, it will garnered a satisfactory responses. If I posted some silly threads, it will generate more than 100 responses. I think having over 1000 friends also help to push that much responses too. Honestly speaking, it doesn't matter if my discussion have few responses only. It is easier for me to handle. But hey, I'm not complaining, LOL!

I cannot remember if I have or not. If I have, I am pretty sure it was a discussion involving animals. I do not know that that is any more deserving, but it seems to be one of the more universal.

The answer is simple and does not require detective work or any kind of brainstorming.The ones that cross the 100 reply mark are those that make to the top discussions and the hot discussions.That way they'll be visible to everyone.So thats the reason for the responses to flood in. Dont tell me that you know nothing about this.I have your posts a couple of times in the top discussions just like this one got out there.So i guess you should be in better position to that.

I guess this is one of those little mysteries that may never be solved. I cannot tell from one day to the next if a discussion will top the 100 or not, and often it is the most unlikely candidate that gets the votes. Sometimes the more emotive and inflamatory discussions get the responses as people end up arguing, other days it is simply the "Do you like coffee" topics that win.

I really do not know what people wants to see..because the maximum responses for a discussion i have got is only 12..i really wonder by looking at the discussions with 50+ responses and there are some discussion which sounds interesting..but there are very few responses from people..

As with you my friend, i have never been able to work out exactly what criteria has to have to hit 100 responses, i certainly have never got anywhere near this dispite all my efforts. I always try to launch interesting discussions but never seem to pull it off. However, ill just keep on posting and enjoying the site, if i can get a few responses then thats great, if not? well i cant really do much more than i am already doing. By the way, i think your discussions are great, please keep on posting blessed be

1. We have to discuss simple things which everybody know. 2. We should not expect others to take pains or do some research. 3. We can provoke them sometimes not by insulting them but by some innocent looking questions.

i don't know what kind of discussion deserves 100 responses,but i do know that people having a lot of friends will get more responses. sometimes a discussion easy to replied to will have more responses,not because they deserve it,but because they are easy.for example,i've seen a topic like this:what do you dress today,it got a lot of responses,lol,we don't have to think over and over again to respond to this topic.and i like to respond to simple topics too.i think it's a way of relax.what do you think?

Hello yanjiaren, the highest responses I had was 66. Anyway, I think members like to respond to something that doesn't require much thinking or input. If you look at those who has reached 100 responses, their discussions are mostly based on personal experiences. Something that everyone has encountered and they relate to that. I think also that it be when you spent so much hours in mylot and answering discussion, your discussion will be in rotation and get more exposure, dont you think? It is like 2 discussion you that you respond, your discussion will get 1 exposure. So the more you respond the more your discussion get the attention. I dont know if you understand what I am trying to say but this is the best I can explain. All the best.
