Do you eat salt with your apple?

I used to make fun of my mama because she would get her salt shaker when she picked up an apple to eat. Well, guess what? Yep, you guessed it. I am just like my mama now. I love to put salt on my apples. Do you? If not salt what do you put on your apple, if anything?

No salt for me please. I like my apples plain or dipped into caramel. Or baked into a pie.

I already try not to eat too much salt, so I'd never add salt to my apples. I'm curious to the taste though, does it make the sweetness stronger? I've heard that you can add black pepper to strawberries and it enhances their taste, but I haven't felt brave enough to try that out yet.

It makes them juicier for sure. I have never heard of black pepper on strawberries, I might, I repeat might, give that a try.

No I don't eat salt or anything on my apple, especially if it's sweet. Besides, I refrain from eating too much salt. Bad for the body.

I don't put salt in my apples. I never thought of doing that. Salt is not good for your health and eating it like that is not very good, I guess. I eat my apples with nothing, just the apple. I like it that way.

Sprinkle Salt - Sprinkling salt.
I love putting salt on my apples. Everytime I get ready to eat one, I cut it up, place it in a bowl and sprinkle a little bit of salt on top. I thought I was the only one who does that.

It's just good to feel that we haven't the true about anything.. what is true for me can be a big wrong to someone else..

I always put salt on my apples. It makes them jucier I think. I like it too. I have been doing that since I was a kid. Another thing I like to eat with apples is a sharp chedder cheese. You should try that, it is very tasty.

Well, I had another person suggest cheese whiz. Do you melt the sharp cheddar cheese on the apple or eat it sliced along with the apple? I may have to try that. thanks for the response.

I haven't heard of eating apples with salt, but here in my country, we usually eat green mangoes with salt. We also eat our native lemon/orange fruit called dalandan or dalanghita with salt especially if they sour. The salt kind of neutralizes the sourness. Some would eat watermelons with salt too especially if the watermelon isn't sweet, putting a dash of salt makes it seem sweeter. I'll try eating apples with salt, I'm curious about its taste. :)

Erm, no, i've never, ever heard (well untill now, reading this discussion) of anyone putting salt on their apples. I don't get why you would want to ruin a nice healthy treat by putting salt on it? If i was going to do that i'd just grab a bag of salty crisp and have done with it! I can't even imagine an apple would taste nice with salt on, i think it would be disgusting. In any case they are perfectly yummy as they are. I don't put anything on my apples, since really it would defeat the object of eating them.

Why should you eat salt on apples? I think you must have really untasty apples when you have to use salts on them. And for sure its true that older people need more taste ion their food because they got weeker tasting in their mouth because of their longly lived lifes.

I've heard of salt with apples but have you heard of salt with watermelon? Believe it or not it makes it taste sweeter! What really goes good with apples is dipping them in peanut butter! Kids love it too.
