does your boyfriend carry your handbag for you?

Actually my husband will carry it if I ask him too because my hands are full. He is very good about that and sometimes will act goofy in public when he has my purse just to get a rise out of other people. He can be a nut. It's fun watching him carry it. I would never ask him to carry it for me if my hands were empty and we were just walking.

Hi angela2006.. Personally, I don't let my boyfriend carry my handbag unless I have my hands full at that time. Even then, I will tell him to carry the stuff and let me carry my own bag. It's not that he doesn't want to. He has no problem with it. It's me who doesn't like to let him carry it. And I also don't like to see other guys carrying their gf's handbag. Especially when I see that the gf's hands are not full at all!! But don't be bothered by a person like me angela2006.. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes.. And I think that if you really really needed him to carry your bag at that time, you should have made it clear to him that you needed assistance even for a little while. I'm sure your boyfriend loves you. If it doesn't work next time, you could always do the 'damsel in distress' act. Maybe he would help you then.. :P

I do not see anything wrong with carrying my wife's handbag for her. In fact, I usually do, especially at times when she need both her hands for selecting clothes or trying on clothes when we go shopping. I don't see what the big deal is to be seen carrying a handbag when your girlfriend is round. In fact, I think it is a gentlemanly gesture. I am sure she appreciates it as well. Maybe you should share your feelings with your boyfriend and let him be aware of how you feel when you need his help to lighten your load, but he refuses.

Hi, angela. I notice many boyfriends help their girlfriends carrying their bags. I know they help carry to make the girlfriends ease. But honestly, that's so weired to see a man with a femal handbag! Don't let your boyfriend to that.

No, I don't let him carry for me even if he wants it too. But I understand you, he should carry it and help you. There's nothing wrong about that, he is your boyfriend anyway. He must not that gentleman...I have seen a lot of men carrying their girlfriends shoulder bags and its ok...I think it's cute..

No, my bf does not carry my handbag for me... He share the same sentiments as ur bf... Sometimes, i wish... He could do it, just for me... Yet, he said... He never does for his ex... i noticed some couples, teenage couples, that the boyfriend used to carry the girls handbag even if that's all the girl has or carrying at the moment, that I prefer not doing at all. it seems that it's corny to let the guy carry your bag just to say that the guy is gentleman or whatever because that's usually how it supposed to look like right..? testing if how gentleman is your man. I dont do that to my guy. but if im in a case like yours, i would please my partner to temporarily carry it for me. if he doesn't, goodbye boyfriend. no just kidding. probably i would talk it over with him. cause its also a basis on how your relationship would grow. cause if he doesn't want to carry a handbag, what more of some other responsibility that is heavier than a handbag.

I asked a male friend of mine recently to carry a bag for me. It was a shoulder bag bubt was clearly a girls. He point blank refused and it was so so heavy. So I asked a few of his friends who were fairly drunk so I thought they would be more willing. They let me carry the bag the whole way. if it had been a backpack they would have had it in an instant.

My husband carried my handbag if needed and always carries the baby bag if I am carrying the baby or sometimes carries the baby bag and my purse as well. He kinda looks cute with it !

Hello angela2006 If I and my boyfriend went shopping, and i've got busy to looked stuff then he will offer to carry my handbag, so i can shopping with free hand.LOL I knew that he is a nice boy to me, thank God i can get a boy like that. my boyfriend will carry for me . maybe my handbag is not so female .and he always take for me if I ask .but I usually take it by myself as I think it might really shame for a man to take a female handbag. though he might can take for you, but he feel uncomfortable in his feelings . if you go shopping, you can ask him take other things like what you said, the heavy ones,and you take you handbag by yourself. I think that will be better.

I used to carry my then-gf's handbag whenever we are commuting, i.e. in the bus or train. But once we reach our destination, she'll take it back from me. I admit that it does look funny for a guy to be carrying the handbag and arriving at a function, a dinner, movies etc.It's her bag for goodness sake!

My boyfriend doesn't carry it on a regular basis, but if my hands were full, that he would. He isn't all excited to carry my back, but if I ask him to than he does. If my back was too heavy, and I asked him to hold it, than he would, but I wouldn't ask him to do that. If its too heavy, that would be my problem for putting too much in there. I woulda just held it.

My boyfriend usually ask me to carry my bag. It started when we are in college when he's courting me. I thought that he's just doing that for a good shot. But until now he did not refuse to carry it for me. I'm the one who refuses him to carry my bag, I feel like it does not fit him but he always insist. With this attitude, I feel so flattered with my boyfriend. In your case, maybe your boyfriend is really shy to carry a girl's handbag. People differs in many ways. We cannot demand them for what they should do for us. You have to understand your boyfriend or you may talk about how you feel for it.

I would try to avoid giving my handbag to my fiance as i would probably forget he had it and part ways without it. This would be embarrassing a handbag but no sign of a female! If i am out with him and need him to hold it for a little while he will do but he wouldn't want to be left with it for too long. I think perhaps there is a stigma surroundin men and bags and society is to blame for that not your boyfriend.
