Do you ever feel guilty about not giving a response to responses?

I was just wondering if any of you feel a bit guilty if you don't give a reply to someone's response from someone who has responded to one of your discussions...I know I do, especially and in particular if it from one of my friends...I try to keep track and I do read each and everyone of my responses and I do sincerely try to post a further comment to acknowledge to show that I respect what opinion is given...I do rate my responses though..each and everyone...I've only been here about two months and I was just curious as to how many discussions I've started..yikes I couldn't believe I have 36 pages of discussions So I hope my friends will understand if I don't give a reply to your responses..I do treasure them all--but if you've been following some of my discussions, you'll know I've just been a tad busy with all the "stuff" that's going on in my life, as I'm sure many of you have had your bit of dramas to. So do you feel guilty when you don't give some kind of response to a response??

I'm longer time than you here but I have less discussions than you.i don't start very often new discussions, but when I do even if I have little time to spend here I always add comments to my responses.Of course i rate each one too. I know many of the members didn't do ,but as I like see comments to my responses I know some others also like plus with theses way I show my respect to each ones answer.

I try to leave a response to all who come my way and answer one of my discussions, but sometimes it can become hard. Especially when you have gotten out about all you want to say on the matter, though you want to say something, but without repeating what you had previously stated. Sometimes I just don't have anything to say to the reply, so I just give them a "+" and let it go. Maybe after a moment or two I will go back and add something if I think of anything, but I don't feel all to bad when I am at a lose for words. It can't be helped in some situations.

lose should be "loss". Been up all night and it is now 1:05 am, tired but can't get to sleep.

Same here. Though most of the time I try to type out my responses in Microsoft Word, so I can check for typos, but tonight that just seems like a big hassle..lol I really should be in bed right now, but sleep keeps eluding me. Hope you have a good rest.

I do not feel guilty, for I know I gets busy sometimes doing other things, but eventually I will get around to responding to my friends discussions for those are the most important ones that what freinds are for! and then I will answer others that I may come across and see have no response which I wish you are some of the others would do with the ones I have posted that have no responses on them, all my friends are asleep on the job or do not like what I posted but still I expected them to respond just out of courtesy for being friends as I do theirs..

Well--I really am trying to catch up and go back and respond--I always seem to be busy nowadays so it's really hard to juggle things since I am trying still to build a business working at home...the other day I was switching back and forth between scanning slides, touching them up at Photoshop, uploading the photos to a stock agency AND a greeting card company, and trying to come here as well...By three in the morning I was suffering from "mind blur"--LOL--and that seems to be my typical kind of day/night lately

I do feel guilty sometimes hun, I always make sure that I rate all the responses I get and, where possible, I try to respond too. Often I simply don't have the time available to go through everything and respond to everyone, so I guess we can only do our best.

LOL, pyewacket, you are more active than me in posting discussions. I've been here for 4 months and have 10 pages of discussions only. If you check on all my previous discussions, I commented back almost 90% of the responses I received. I only left those that are nonsensical and one liner response. I know that we are not earning money by commenting back. I've seen some discussions that are totally devoid of comments.

Yeah, I do. Luckily I don't get a lot of responses to my discussions, so I can keep up. I just feel I ought to respond to those people nice enough to read and reply to my discussions. I know you do too and are good about doing that. There are a lot of people who don't, though. Actually, I don't think myLot even wants you to, they don't credit you for it in points. I know you will keep up the best you can. Don't worry about it, though. Like you said, you have enough to take care of right now. I'm thinking about you!

I tried to give a response to all of my responses.I know anyone who gives me a response must read my response first, it takes time to do that, and then they will type (write), it also takes time. It is their work. I want to show them my repect, even sometimes I just show my thanks to them.

I always reply to all responds to my discussion.... The worst is...when someone is replying to few responds and ignores other...it makes me feel like I am not welcome...or I am skipped and my respond was not worthy... If I am busy, I don't start new discussions, I just respond to someone else discussion...

I do - sometimes. In the beginning i replied to them all, now I dont coz there is no time for that. However i do rate them all and give a best response, I hope that my friends know that just because i do not always comnment it doesnt mean that I do not read and appreciate it.

I do answer everyones responses sometimes though you get backed up and it takes a while to get to them all and then you have new topic discussions also to answer. You can only do what you can do. I say eventually they will all get answered.

That's what I'm trying to do..to answer all...the worse though is when I get up the next day...OMG...I have a ton of e-mail notices, and since this is a world wide site, most are from people of course who have responded while I'm sleeping ..I mean naturally I'm glad people are responding...but it can overwhelm one at times!

I don't feel guilty about not giving a comment to responses in discussions that I've started. But I try to comment as many responses as I'm able, if I don't have any idea or simply don't have time to do it, I leave it and try again few days later or even later. It's always nice when your response is commented, but I'm forbearing about people who don't comment my responses, even if they're my friends:)

yes, I've heard that we are not allowed to post comments like "Thanks for your reply". So when someone gives a response to my topic, and this response has only 1 sentece, and it's impossible to say anything besides "thank you", I usually leave this response without any comment.

Thing is, its actually against the rules to post thank you replies to people..did you know that...and sometimes that's all I can think of to say

There are times when I do feel guilty and then other times I don't. I have a lot on my plate at home with my own business, animals to take care of , husband to feed, etc. I really try not to miss any responses to my discussion but sometimes it happens. Just last week , I got super busy and wasn't able to respond to a few of my discussions which had a lot of responses. I finally sat down one night and said Ok, just do it. LOL I felt better about being able to respond.

Aww--just took a look--you other cats Pumpkin and Silver are cute...and your two dogs...who rules the house--cats? dogs? or the birds? I used to have a bird too, and she most definitely was the boss --if the cats annoyed here she was sure to let them know it

If I can't think of a quality response, then I don't post anything. And, yes, this does make me feel guilty. I'm still VERY new here and trying to learn the ropes . . . but if I can't think of anything good to say, I worry that the people who run this site will delete the post anyway. Does that make sense? I try to respond to everything that I have posted for discussions because I feel that's the point . . . but I don't respond to every response I've made. I feel like I'm rambling here. Am I doing things right by moving on if I can't think of something quality to say??

And sometimes one can't really respond to a response since every once in awhile someone posts a comment that really doesn't even have to do with the discussions...

Yes, I do tend to feel guilty by not leaving a comment to a response. But honestly, sometimes, I just don't have anything to say in response. Or sometimes what I would say, I have already said a couple times in comments to other people in the same discussion. So, I do not want to keep saying the same thing round and round. I hope those that I do not comment to also understand. So, no hard feelings if you do not comment to my response. I understand. :)

I hate repeating myself over and over again and there's just so many times one can say thank you for your response--sounds kind of dumb after awhile--so I do try to be a bit "witty" LOL

I don't feel guilty about it. I would like to give responses to others discussions that aren't necessarily my friends, but time does not permit it. I would be spending an extra 2 or 3 hours a day on here and it isn't worth it to me. I wish I could catch up to all those who have responded to my discussions. I do rate every response and believe it or not, I have rated everyone with a plus. I don't believe in giving out negative ratings, because I believe that what I give to others comes back to me, in one way or another.

99% of the time I give a plus rating to everyone too--but every once in awhile I get a response that is so negative...have you ever got a response that made you furious..to the point of throwing the computer out the window..well maybe not that bad..but at least do a lot of wicked swearing like a truck driver--I do tend to be a bit verbal LOL

I do read them all, but no, I only respond if I can think of something to say. I think "thank you for your response" are just empty words. I think we all appreciate responses to our discussions, and responses to our responses, but if I can't think of anything to add, I don't. Maybe it means I get a bit less, but I'm already pressed for time here so I try to stick with meaningful responses. (oh, I just noticed I got an additional .02 cents over night...)

Hello, pyewacket,of course i can understand your situation,we are all very busy and may only steal some time everyday to reply in mylot,it it will actually take you alot of time to start a discussion and reply to every comments due to time limitation. For me,I will rate all positiv and come back to the comments later when I have time to do so,I will try my best to give comments to all even they may not be instant ones.

I do try to keep up on my responses. But What I like to do, is pop over to the persons page and make a comment on one of their latest discussions. I also try to do my catch up responses like once a week.
