I don't know about you, but I've gotten a really clean cut hair recently and I see dramatic changes on what people's attitude towards me. In a way it sickens me on how surface we really are but then again, I thought about the whole concept myself and I can't help but to feel the same way sometimes. What do you feel?

NEAT APPEARANCE says ALOT and it makes you feel better about yourself as well . I know that being the center of attention ....in a GOOD way made you feel GREAT!!! I know that we sometimes look at the outter appearance before we REALLY get to know a person, and we REALLY shouldn't do that, but we are all human and we are not perfect. So don't worry about what others may think if you are TRULY happy with yourself in and out.

Thank you, I feel a lot better about the type of feeling that I had now. Although I still think it's wrong but it has been a lot easier for me to let go of the guilt.

yes, i agree with you. looks does matter in this world. you see, it is realy obvious that the good looking people are more favored than those less attractive ones. a very clear example? television. only the good looking ones appear on it. :P lolz.

See, I realized how reality really is different from what we've learned in schools. We were taught to treat each other equally in all occasions but however growing up with TV we were taught otherwise. I thought it was kind of sad in a way.

Well, looks too does matter in life! Beauty has its own ways to create apearweence and it always has a meaning! But at the same time to give much more attentive importance to only surface level beauty and looks is very wrong attitude!

I agree so many times I think we're just too focused on one area specifically in looks and we leave the character part of it out.

Yup, looks does matter, otherwise beauty contests and the like would not be given priority. I agree with you that we have become so shallow, but that's the way it is. Companies today hire people who are not only competent and witty, but should possess pleasing personality. That's why whenever we leave home, we always take care of how we look, not so much for ourselves, but for others--our teacher, our spouse, our boss, our friends--and what they say about us do matter. Well, I understand that this is a rather unfair standard, I mean focusing on looks at first, but it is happening, and we can't deny it. But then again, the old adage which says, "don't judge a book by its cover" is also applicable to human beings...that's why beauty contests also include in their criteria, wit and intellect, talent, and even emotional quotient.
