Where exactly are they?

Awhile back Locke's father showed up on the island. He said "don't you know where we are?" Do you think they are in purgatory? This woman just parachuted out of a plane claiming to be sent from Desmond's girlfriend, and said everyone died in the crash of their plane, it was recovered and even mentioned the big deal of Charlie's death since he's a rock star. Everyone there has a story and most of them aren't good. Micheal & Walt left the island but never returned and supposedly they are only 2 miles off the coast of Oregon. What do y'all think?

The actress that plays Kate was on Regis and Kelly.She said that we will know soon where they are. She also said that they are not in purgatory.
According to reports we will be told more in this weeks show then they have ever revealed in a finale before.We will get a good idea of what is happening.

Where do you get they are only 2 miles off the coast of Oregon? I have no clue where that might have come from, but would be interested to see the logic there.
THEY ARE NOT IN PURGATORY! Apologies for yelling, but the producers have said since season 1 that they are not. They reiterate that in the special that aired after Grey's Anatomy last week and will reair Wed. night prior to the 2 hour finale.

They mentioned the oregon thing about a month ago on the show, maybe when ben was telling his story. I haven't seen EVERY episode, I used to work nites, so sorry. The whole reason for bringing it up on myLot was to get information from you, so thank you so much for sharing.

I think the island is hidden somehow. One of the things that I read on one of the websites is that there was research going on about magnetic fields and how they can help with aging, cancer, etc. So, I think there's some kind of Bermuda Triangle effect going on with this island. Remember, when Dharma was using the island, they said it had unique properties.
