Why are you leaving, my friends?

My dear friends/mylotters, I realised that more and more mylotters are planning to leave this community each day. Why is this happening? Do not feel bad if your rating or reputation has gone down. Do not think of the "enemies" that you have or think you have here. Think about the fun times, the friendship you have built, your friends that have supported you all the way, the future friends that you will have and the fruitful discussions/responses you have made. Take it as a challenge. There is always ups and downs in anything we do and mylot is no exception. Stay, dont go.

i am not sure about other people's reasons why they are leaving. i had been here for 9 months and i admit that the past couple of weeks, i had been inactive here. it's not because i transfered to another forum. but because for 9 months, i decided to take a break somehow. i felt like my brain was so drained already with issues and matters here in myLot. but for sure, i missed myLot while i was away. in fact, i always try to log in every now and then to check if i have messages and new friend requests. and now, i am back to say that i love myLot a lot!

Yeah, there are a lot of dissatisfaction and ever increasing problems here. I know how it feel because I was a 10 Star before I went down to 9 star. I was a bit sad at first but then I realized there is more fun thing to do here than worrying about the star rating. Thanks for your response.

hello easy. glad to know that someone notices me. hehe. anyway, as i've said, i just took a break because i already felt that my brain's so drained! haha. and i never will leave myLot. i love it here and i love the people here and i will never leave my friends, too.
and yup ellie, ratings might go up and down but we are here to stay!

I have found that earnings have plummeted in recent weeks. For the same type of discussions (size and quality and number of responses) that used to pull in adollar or more a day now is lucky to bring in half of that.
This is discouraging.

I'm staying here. I have read that lots of people are wanting to leave for certain reasons. I do hope they think about it and stay here. I've been here for a while now and I really enjoy it here. I've made some friends on here and I love responding to different topics.

Hello,ellie,I think i know what you are talking about,she has told me this problem few weeks ago,I can understand her situation,but i think if she really leaves because of this reason,someone may really made her very upset.
You are right,we should always look at the bright side of the things and neglect the bad things,I always say we should enjoy the time when we are on mylot.

I think one of the reasons people are thinking about leaving is the quality of discussions lately. I've read a lot about ratings and reputations, arguements, name calling and more.
Sad that people have to be so mean.

Strange isnt it? We encountered problems like this in the real world outside but never thought it is happening here in mylot, our virtual world. I think if we just focus on responding to quality discussion, we should be doing fine. Thanks for your response.

they might have personal reasons for leaving mylot so soon, that i cannot argue with them. it's their own choice anyway.
but for us who have remained to be loyal to mylot, let us think about fun times and enjoy the company of other mylotters. for i adhere to this saying "winners never quit, quitters never win."
let us continue to cultivate the seed we have planted here while were still starting and have it developed into a full-grown plant that will bear the fruits of our love and friendship.

Well - I have seen the discussions people start saying that they are leaving MyLot. I have seen a lot of good wholesome discussions that were compliant with the MyLot guidelines just vanish. People get upset about losing their discussions, & a lot of discussions that DO violate the MyLot guidelines are still around. I have a feeling that when a discussion goes bye-bye, if people rated you a [+] ... the rating might also go too. That's the reason that people's ratings keep dropping. Well, like you said, the ratings dropping has also been a factor into people leaving.

I happen to agree that legitimate, guidelines-compliant discussions have vanished, & blatant ones that I have reported are still thriving.

I find the way Mylot is set up can be a little overwhelming, so I limit my use on here. I'm not sure if this is an issue that has been resolved but it's also discouraging when you take the time to post quality responses and see your earnings go up, just to see them go back down because topics were deleted. So now I only post when the mood, and time, strike me.

Hello scarymary, I know how your feel. Earlier on my points and earning got deducted. At first, I wasnt sure what was going on. Then it occured to me that my points and earning will be affected if the discussions I have responded to or my discussions were deleted or rated (-)/reported. Now I am more careful to respond to discussions or posting new discussions. I dont think mylot will just simply delete any discussions that were reported.

you say wise words, there are ups and downs in everything, and in myLot too.
I'm well here in this community, there is a lot of nice people and interesting discussions. When I have time I always connect to the Internet and take a look on myLot. I love communicating and surfing on myLot is one of my favourite hobbies. So I think to remain on this forum still a lot time....

I have noticed that some of my friends here on mylot are leaving because of the points going down every day and it makes them sad as for me I try not to get upset from the points or the ratings now. Not too long ago my points went down but my earnings were ok so I am fine with that and now I don't pay any attention to it so I just want to have some fun here and make new friends here Have a good day :)

Hi aprilgrl, that is true. Problems started when points, star and reputation rating went down. My first star was yellow and then red and very quickly it went to 10. But now I am stuck at 9. It really doesnt matter actually. What matter is our interest in mylot. Thanks for your response.

One thing I've noticed, the people who usually leave are the old members. So probably they got tired because, there are not much discussions that interests them anymore. Most discussions are redundant. But some of the people I know who left came back. Maybe they're just taking some kind of a break. I myself sometimes, just disappear.

I am new to mylot, till now I have experienced the good things at mylot. I cant see bad people over here. Iam not able to understand who these bad people are and why are they trying to harm others. Do they get something out of it? Please let me know all about this issue. Where are the things going wrong?

Hi rakhii, they are not bad people and certainly not harming anyone. It is just that sometimes the disagreement in a discussion can lead to a lot of tension and complaint. So along the way there will be rude responses, minus rating or abuse report. It is a virtue community and just like in the real community, we have our disagreement and confrontation, only that we dont do it face to face. Thanks for your response.

I think it is not so less friendship..
Since only writtig is the way for communication so it more addictional.. because human want to conqure tough/restriction/boundary always.
I have lot of future plan about Mylot even I want to build my carrier with mylot.
Is not possible..?
I will try to stay here as much as possible for me..

Actually there are not many people, comparatively, that announced about leaving myLot. However, there many inactive members in myLot. Are those inactive people are considered left as well?
To me, If I can talk to them to stay, I would do just that but if they still would want to leave, then that is their prerogative. There are still many members around to make this place a happening place to share our thoughts. Cheers!

Well, I went from a ten to an eight overnight, and am one negative from a seven, so I am a little bent. Not with mYlot, but whoever has gone out of there way to take it upon themselves to be a jerk. There are unfortunately a lot of jerks around and about lately.

I'm not going anywhere myself, in fact, I have just made a plea to all mylotters under general discussion, if you or anyone that is seeing the answer to this discussion would like to find my plea, please add me to your friends list and then you will see what my plea is all about, myself I have really started to enjoy mylot alot better than myspace. At least here we get paid for our participation.

i am a new lotter here ,so i haven't got this kind idea ,maybe i will have in future ,but not now ,i think i just feel carefree here ,and earning money is not my purpose here ,if anyone hold this thinking ,he will soon leave here ,my opinion.
