Do you make a budget?

Budget is a good way to keep the balance in between spending money and your earnings. There are lots of people who make budget for their monthly spending and stay with their budget. And some people are there who make a budget but can’t stick to that. Some people don’t make any budget. I think it is a good habit to make a budget and go accordingly. Personally I don’t make a budget literally, but I always try to spend according to our earnings. How about you? Do you make a budget according to your earning? Do you care about how much you are spending?

Ya,when i start anything i will make a budget because then only how much we are spending and we can show it to my parents, then by this we can ask more money by showing the proofs.I care more about my spending.

I used to make budgets all the time but could never get my husband to follow the budget plan I had made up or something unexpected would always come up and then I would have to draw up another one . I do agree that a budget plan is good but it would have to be better then what I used to do up because no matter what I would budget for the month , we always would end up going over the budget amount and would not end up much further ahead then we were before . Instead we now try to just spend according to our earnings like you stated and find that it works out about the same for us and that as long as you make sure to put aside a little for the times of emergency that it works out a whole lot better .

I do make a budget for our family. I have a spreadsheet that I input how much we estimate to bring home each week and what bills need to be paid that same week. I can pretty much tell you what we are going to bring home and going to be paying each week through the end of the year.

Thanks, SweetLady! It's the only way that I can make sure that all our bills get paid and also prepare for unforseens. I run an in-home daycare and how much I bring in varies every week.

budgeting is a good thing. Sticking to a budget requires tremendous amounts of discipline! Many a times, when you budget, there is a tendency to have something crop up to screw the budget up side down. For example, you have a budget for that particular month... then the car is damaged, and you need to get it repaired. Or the fridge is spoilt and you need to get it fixed cos it is a necessity. Things like that will then force you to dip into part of the budget planned for something else that month. And the same cycle repeats in the following month... and the dipping will keep snowballing till one cannot take the pressure! At times like that, you wished you don't have to cater for a budget! But again, a budget is necessary for one to properly plan the expenditures. Difficult lah...

My husband gets paid twice monthly. The day before each payday, I write out the budget on paper. My husband looks it over and we make adjustments as needed. We may not always follow it exactly, but we know that if we overspend in one area we have to take it from another. Planning our spending keeps us on target with our financial goals.

Absolutely, it's a great tool to have for us because my wife and I are newly married and we have a lot of different expenses that we need to keep track of. We keep track of all of our spending and on exactly what the spending is on, this way we can actively know how much everything costs for us and how to get more funds per month to those necessities. We have such a tight budget, we need to make sure our money is going as far as it can, and our budget helps, most definitely. Especially since we are both impulse buyers to a degree.

I too always budget things. In this days and age we need to keep things a float. I'm a strong believer in keeping budgets so that we can cover other areas and make sure we don't fall into debt. ~Joey

i think I am doing something similar to you. I mean, I keep in my mind how much I have to count on for a month and then I calculate how much I can spend this very month. Usually I am putting some money aside so I am never spending all my monthly income unless there are some extras (I mean I need to buy something very expensive or I run into something unexpected like the car broke down or the washing machine is out of work and so on) And there is another thing..I like keeping a record of what I am spending..I have a special notebook where I write all what I am buying and so on It helps me making better choice for the next month and keeping into contact with my money flow!!!

i actually do..but just recently.. budgeting is one of the things i really suck..i always spend more than i earn and i feel really bad about it..the thing is i receive a decent salary evry month because i have 2 jobs..it is just that i am so generous to my loved ones that i spend a lot for them..so i made a template for my everyday expenses.. and i monitor it everyday..i just hope it would work..i really want it to..

I don't really make a buget. I mean I always make sure I have enough money to pay my bills before I go out and spend money, but after that, I spend or save depending on what I feel like. Eventually I'll have to make a budget, but I'm still working on that independence thing.

i do care a lot on how much i spend. i just don't live for today but i live more for tomorrow. what i mean is, i love to save as much as i could without limiting my happiness, too. i do save, i do budgetting but i also spoil myself a bit. i deserve to atleast buy myself something especially if i really love that very item. i always try to think of my budget for the month. look at the necessities and pay the bills first. then, if i still have something left, i can spoil myself and atleast leave something for my savings, too.

well i agree with you. having a budget is really a good habit and will really help you in the present and in the future. personally i do budget my money and my time but then again, because of my impulsiveness and my devil-may-care manner i do not follow or adhere to my budget scheme and thus the essence i lost. i think that one must also have patience and think about the future, not merely on the present.. as of now i am really ttrying to follow the budget scheme i had made for myself so that i can be more productive and thus i can help my parents, especially my mother who i know is very tired of working endleslly for the whole family.

You must act as if you are already the kind of person you want to be. The real key to changing your self-image is to continually think of yourself as already being the kind of person you want to be. If you continually keep in your mind the picture of the way you want to be (for instance, a disciplined. best regards
