Have you tried that your credit cards were charged for purchases over the net?

Last May 21, 2007, I received a confirmation message in my email address that my credit card was charged for purchases over the net. I was surprised for a moment because the amount was quite big. I am suspecting that somebody else is doing the transaction using the details of my credit card and my email address also. How could this happen? As soon as I knew about this, I tried to report such incident to my credit card company not to authorize such transaction but they did not assure me yet if they are going to cancel the charge. Have you experienced similar incident as this? Please give me advice on how to ask my credit card company not to charge my account...

i don't know if this can help. but a few years back, i joined an online subscription that charged my account on a monthly basis. the amount is not substantial and i had full knowledge of it. then i cancelled my subscription with that site and they have acknowledged the cancellation of my subscription. however, the following month i was still charged by the internet company for the monthly subscription. i immediately called up the credit card company upon receiving my statement and informed them of the situation. i explained that i was not aware of this particular transaction and the credit card company said that they would investigate it and asked me to submit a letter of contest regarding the transaction that i questioned. i don't know how the credit card did next but the following month, the subsctription charged to me was reversed. all i had to do was to let out a sigh of relief, wheeww...

Thanks for that! I hope my credit card company would do the same in my case. The amount really matters to me.

Yeah, I had a similar incident happening to me last summer. I noticed many fraudulus transactions on my credit card's statement. I called my bank right away and they did not charge me for the transactions I was not not responsible for.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I just had my two credit cards, but have not activated them yet for fear of unexplained charges which will result to huge debts. What happened to you have also happened to a friend, and after that she swore never to use a credit card again! Imagine my anxiety upon learning the disadvantages of having credit cards...instead of helping us, they cause us to incur huge debts which are totally unnecessary. That's why I resolved that I'll never ever use the two plastic cards I have. I guess they will better serve as merely decorations in my wallet. LOL! ( I am really laughing!)
