I am 46 and I have a 2 yr old daughter. My problem is, I usually weigh 112 lbs. but ever since I had my last child, I just can't seem to lose this weight. I now weigh 180 and its really getting me down. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had (and still do have) a problem with loosing weight after having my second baby as well! With my daughter the weight seemed to just fall off, but with my son about 5-10 extra pounds have decided to stay around!! I HATE them!! 112 is a great weight, I wish I could get there!! I am currently at 129 and aiming for 125. I don't know why it is so hard after having the second child, probably because our bodies go through so much!! You had a post about walking right? I would try to change things up and not do the same thing every day. Or walk every day and then do something else a few days a week as well. Try to run on your walks, running is torture to me but I try to do a little bit =) Change things up so your body doesn't get use to doing the same things and gets use to them. Keep track of what you eat and drink to see about how many calories tou are takng in a day. I was on the Slim-Fast diet and lost like 8 pounds in a week, but the shakes were giving me headaches so I stopped drinking them. It wasn't that bad though just having shakes, little meal replacement bars and then dinner with my kids.

Thanks for the tips....I use to walk for an hour a day..then i started working so my time was used up and now i'm not working again so i am hoping to get into the walking again...i will admit, i do do the same routine everyday. i use to go to a gym and lift weights...but now with the 3 lil ones, its a little harder to do that. i will be going to curves for 2 weeks with my niece, i have a free pass so i want to check it out.. but i do need to monitor what i eat. i just pick and never seem to sit for a meal and i know that is the WORSE thing to do... thanks for the tips

Weight Watchers always does it for me! It's a great and sensible program. You can email me if you would like more info. Btw, I'm doing it on my own....without going to meetings.

It's pretty common among women to have trouble losing weight after having a child, especially after a second or third child. It's certainly not impossible to lose the weight, just more challenging. Your body changes so much. Number one is to be patient. It will happen, just not as fast as you may wish it would. Number two is to combine good nutrition with a solid exercise program. You may have to be more strict with yourself now than you would havce had to in the past to lose weight. Three is to make sure you drink plenty of water. Water better enables the body to burn fat. Four is sleep. I'm sure it's not easy for you to get a full night sleep. However, sleep has a pretty major impact on fat loss but affecting hormone production and our ability to metabolize nutrients. Please let me know if I can help more! Sarah Brown www.sarahpersonaltraining.com

After my daughter was born, I had the same problem too. But, I bought a stationary cycle that I can use while my daughter takes naps, and already I've dropped five pounds in less than a month. Daily exercise speeds up the fat burning process and your metabolism, making it easier to lose weight and keep it off. Also, eating several big veggie/fruit salads everyday with low cal dressing helped me take off twenty pounds last summer. Best of luck with your weight loss.

start slowly by brisk walking, jogging is dangerous for your age group, brisk walk would do. Dont aggrevate yourself by thinking that your weight matters a lot. start slow, discipline yourself.
