The harder I work on Mylot the more my reputaiton goes down I am beginning to feel that the star system is a pointless exercise open for others to bause and it looks like the ones that are abusing it are the real winners here. They are getting a kick at putting minuses every where and the rest of us working so hard ot give Mylot a good atmosphere and who are trying to help others here are the losers. I am beginning to feel that. I prefer it if Mylot took my star away completely. Then I would not be open to sabotage. My rating was 90 and suddenly now gone to 89. Someone is having a field day. All I have been doing since ten a.m this morning is responding to discussions the best wy I can and not giving one or two lines. You all know I put my heart in my relpies. Also I have been helping my friends resolve their 0 response discussions. So what the hell am I doing wrong here? Mylot, please take my star away. I don't want it ..I don't want a system that is not flawless. I know others suffer the same way and I really don't see the point of a star if it is something people can manipulate to make themselves happy making other's lives difficult. Who agrees with me on this?
IF I WASN'T WORKING HARD TO MAKE THIS A GOOD PLACE I WOULD SHUT MY MOUTH AND NOT SAY A WORD. BUT I THINK SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE..

The best way to look at this is not carinf about it. When you moan about your star people know you dislike it. Then if they are feeling nasty they may rate you low just cos they know you dont like it. Plus its only a rating who cares what it says. Your ratin gon here is not reflective of who you actually are so I wouldnt worry about it.

good point my friend. I just like to point out injustices, however small they may be..not just for myself but for others. If there is a flaw in the system then we must try to improve it and not feel shy to face authority. Remember David and Goliath? lol

Hello Yan, I'm sorry to hear about your star rating. I really don't know what's pulling your star down. I kept giving you pluses.
I can understand your sentiment. I have once been saddened when my star had dropped to 9. Fortunately, many friends had readily show their support and gave me the pluses I needed.
I will go through your threads and give you pluses again. I hope this will help to push up your star rating.

You are doing everything alright, perhaps you just have an enemy there but of course I can't understand why. It seems everybody who cares about his/her rating has to respond only the discussions he does agree with everything 100% LOL, and even then there isn't any guarantee. I never give a - rating unless I see someone very rudely copy/pasting other member's discussion or response. That's stealing, and stealing has to be reported. We all are giving you a +, and I'm sure your rating will soon go upwards again.
The rating idea would be OK if there weren't members who are abusing it. Perhaps it makes them to feel like a little gods, to make others to feel bad. I'm usually feeling sorry for such kind of people, I guess they should see a psychiatrist.

This is a very true statement. People who rate minus without even responding in a discussion are incredibly passive aggressive and low skilled socially.
Personally, I call them nameless cowards. They hide behind their myLot username and most of them do not even reveal their username as they rate minus usually without even explaining why they do not like a particular post.
Only a sick person in need of a psychriatist or a therapist would derive pleasure from rating minus anonomously on a routine basis.
I hope these people seek the help they need.

i must admit i feel like this sometimes. I really feel we should have to justify each minus rating in the same way we havwe to do when we report something to mylot. I think it would put most people off with the silly revenge minus ratings

Hello,yanjiaren,honestly i prefer we do not have the star and rating system,it just lead to disappointment sometimes,especially like what happend few days ago when our rating were all down by 10-13 points without any reasons,although mylot had fixed up this glitch,but it had made many people fed up with mylot.
You should not be worry too much about your rating as you always reply with good quality,when times go by,your rating will be increased,i will give you positive for this discussion:++

Can you help me with my unresolved discussions? I am already on your friends list. As for the star rating, I wouldn't worry about it if I was you. My star has been bouncing around as well. As long as you are following my lots guidelines. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just keep up with what you are doing. It will all work out in the end. Good luck!!

i know exactly how it feels. to a start with i had a red star, then i was overjoyed to reach to 10. then one fine day i found myself demoted to 9 with my score slashed from 97 to 89!!! i think, this negative rating system is just not done. how can our quality of input here being determined by a few whimisical minds, whose only contribution perhaps being this diligent negative markings!!
i feel, the uniformity would be there only when mylot allows postive rating system or nothing atall for the matter. dear yanji, i am today at 10, but you know what, i am not that happy and is prepared for a downfall a second time, anytime now.

I feel the same way sometimes yanjiaren. I try to work hard here and do my best but I am losing points more often than usual now. I think someone is deliberately rating us badly also which is not fair to us at all. I wish Mylot would just get rid of the rating system altogether. I agree that those of us who work hard here and have been here for a very long time should not have to be dealing with stuff like this.

yes i think it is a bad feeling when one sees his/her star going down!! but i don't think that ur hard work won't pay off because ur posts r not lacking in quality:) maybe the reason for this could be that there r many people who don't care to rate others who reply to their discussions. and we see that this is going to affect our average rating in the long term. i mean if the most of our replies goes unrated it would imbalance our posts/rating ratio.. after a time. hope i m not sounding a bit confusing!!:s by the way ur rating is still 90 so cheer up!!:)

my friend, you are taking this star and rating stuff way too seriously. Please keep working the way you have been here because the majority of us appreciate it. Think of it this way...you are help your friends to make the earnings they are working for and in the process you are making some for yourself. I've learned that this is the way it has to be. Don't be so upset about it. This is only a web site where we get to post our thoughts and feelings, make some good friends and earn in the process.

I feel that in one or the other way hard work works. there is a possibility that in the way you have thought it may nt b but in the other way it will definetely. the position of stars, moon, sun etc etc is the thinking of the persons who doesnt want to work or dont want to give upo their 100%. i have prepared for competition for which worked for 23 hours a day for about a month. bt i wasn`t able to clear it, i felt bad bt it helped me as i have gt an habit to work abt such a long time a day thatz also an award as far as i think......

I just dropped to 8 ... I have no idea why... I guess it's because of the people giving you a negative remark when they don't agree with you :-( I wish people would use the system right.

+ Keep working and ignore the sad thing. Your star is down, and you will get increasing sooner. Luckily, I have seen mine up from 7-8, I am always positive (+)to every one when they negatively replied to mine. The discussion has different ideas, it may be good for whom the a good person can gain, but it is very difficult for whom a bad person to do. Cheers up!

There is no need you fell like these.the important is you do nice work here...you know and we know too.That's all matter,not a number in a star.If your friends like your discussions and your responses ,if you fell you do your best here,that is.

It's really a frustrated thing,my friend.Usually,hard work will be paid off,maybe it's a exception this time.In addition,maybe it's not the appropriate time to be paid off,several days later,you maybe be paid off well.Just take it easy,my friend.
