Progress is inevitable , but violently upsetting the balance of nature may produce disastrous consequences in the long run . Since our actions boomerang on us nature may react violently and we will just be the helpless victims . If an action is good for the majority , it is progressive . Otherwise it will definitely be destructive .How do you feel?

Progress is usually intended for good, but comes at a price. I can immediately think of 2 such consequences: One is that things are moving faster these days because of technology advancements. We are expected to work more efficiency and do more with less. People who are used to things being faster become less tolerant of those who are slower. As a result people are more short-tempered and easily irritated. Also, world production has increased over the years. More factories are set up. More wastes are dumped. There is more traffic everywhere. The world's air has gotten dirtier and now global warming and polution effects have become a worry for the world.

As a term PROGRESS indicates development. As a word it is suggesting for betterment. Some time when development took place it is not considering progressive because of its characteristic/s. While progress itself always considered for betterment!

I think we are already seeing some of the results and they aren't all good ones. One thing I'm seeing in my town is that they are building so many new housing additions, and using up good farmland. And, the town itself has many empty buildings and houses.

Progressivism is a political philosophy whose adherents promote public policies that they believe would lead to positive social change. As a broad characterization of political leanings, political progressivism mostly refers to social liberalism, social mocracy, or green politics. Progressivism may also mean preferring moderate change, as opposed to minimal or maximum change. In this sense, it is contrasted with reactionary, conservative, as well as radical ideology. Progressive logic is the value logic that gives an underlying unity to this diversity of views.
