they have this playground with playstructures like the ones in mcdonald's. there is one where you go up 2 stairs and there are these little cutains you go through and go in the middle of the playstucture to start going up. well my daughter went up the stairs then started climbing in. then she fell. after you climb in and you can't really see well through the curtain thing it's a 2 foot frop to nothing but cement. there is nothing in there at all. but it's where you go to start climbing up the tube to the slide. i coudlnt' beleive it how you go up 2 steps to fall in cement. how can they not have mats down on something like that. i put a complaint in cause my daughter hurt her knee bad and was bleeding and already bruising up. and one of the people said there is another one where people hurt themselves bad on all the time and they still haven't done anything about it.

Maybe you could get all the parents to sign a paper and then present it to the playground owners. The other thing is maybe you could post a not on the slide itself that it may not be safe for under a certain age. The other thing is that you have to find out who is running the playground and go online and find their main office. That main office is where you want to get a letter out to. In the mean time I would not let her go on that slid.

it was a playground inside of a animal park. i've put two complaints in there with them with the customer service and one with the first aid attendent that came to help us. i have their phone number and will be following up with a call in a few days. i'll give them a little time to see if they solve the problem but i will definately be looking into it again.

It is such a shame that safety isn't more of a priority when children's play areas are being designed. It seems we get more concerned with appearance, number of attractions and everything else before safety. Imagine if some child landed on their head on that concrete!?! I'm glad you took the time to file a complaint. So many parents are afraid to 'make waves' and be considered a trouble maker. But in not reporting incidents such as yours, things will never change! I'm glad your precious little girl suffered no more injury than she did.

that is so sad... i thought that play area should be a safe place for children to play and have fun... why don't they put something soft on the cement so that when children fall, they won't get hurt badly??? i hope they are doing something about it now after you put a complain and hope your daughter is alright... please give her my hug... take care and God Bless you...

Usually play areas are checked out for certain danger areas. I would just go over their head and see about getting it fixed. If they don't fix it, then I guess it's okay in the safety guides and there really isn't much you can do. BUt it's worth a shot. You never know who will listen to you. I'm not sure, but maybe call the health department or something, they might be able to tell you where to go from there. I know it's not a health problem, but I think they take care of things like that as well. I know in daycares they would always check the playground to make sure everything was in place.

How terrible. I hope your daughter is alright now. This safari park needs to get its act together. They arenot following safety guidelines and need to be reported if they dont do anything about it. I hope they fix it up because they should be closed down if they dont best wishes to you and your daughter

I am sorry your daughter got hurt. It is especially worse since it was because of an unsafe child structure. You need to call your city or town and find out who you complain to before a child lands on there head or breaks a bone. They will force these people to make it safe or remove it. Don't leave it to the owner as he will obviously do nothing. We all have to take steps to ensure the safety of our children and others don't you think? what seems to be the reason for the curtains rather than leaving it open so all could see it was a drop? Hope your daughter heals quickly. All the best .

That ia awful. they should at least have some kind of padding there for the children. I cannot believe the board of health or the health inspectors didn't see this before now and make them do something about it. They are looking for a big lawsuit if they do not fix it properly soon. someone is going to get hurt even worse one of these times.

That is terrible!!! I can't believe a kids place would have something like that were kids can get hurt so easily!! I would have been pissed if my child got hurt like that because of their stupidness!! You should tell them you will not go back because of that, it is too dangerous!

Oh my! That is terrible. Hope they get back to you about the complaint, because that's pretty ridiculous. Kids fall all the time and shouldn't be landing on cement after a big drop no less. Glad she's okay, but ouch! :( I wouldn't have been pleased about that at all!
