I just do not understand how this man can keep pulling the wool over people's eyes, pretending to be a much more substantial intellect than he really is. I am not saying that there is no problem in the environment, just that there is a problem, to me, with Gore's credibility.

You and me both! I read a book about him a couple of years ago, and I wouldn't believe anything he says!

He just always seems to be in the right place to get himself an opportunity he can take credit for. I agree with you, I do not understand why people believe he is as intelligent as he pretends to be.

It's funny how the truth is so humorous. I"m an independent...I liked gore until he turned into a snake!

That is just sad. Look at all the work Michael J Fox did for Parkinsons research. NOW he may not have done the research himself...but he certainly did alot to bring it to our attention. What did al gore do...kiss up to hollywood, and shove it down our throats...just my two cents...but I think the man is a snake! Furthermore, if Gore gets the Nobel peace prize it is just tragic! Tragic! For what? Making a film???? Since when does that qualify for that award...? Good god! Just my 2 cents

Let me understand this because Al Gore makes a movie and everywhere he turns he gets on his soap box about global warming. That entitles him to a Nobel Peace prize nomination. Al Gore reminds me of a story in the Bible a certain father ask his first son to do something, and that son refused, but later on changed his mind and did it anyways. Then there was a second son who was asked to do something and he accepted, but after a while didn't do it. So respected his father more. Al Gore talks all the time about global warming and how we should change our lives and lifestyles, BUT Al Gore lives in a 20,000 sq foot home, mines Zinc on his property, and has 1/2 a million dollars invested in an oil company. On the other hand, George W. Bush's house in Crowford, TX, it is a 4,000 sq ft house with solar panels on the roof, and a geo thermal heat pump. My question is out of these two who is more environmentally friendly? The man who talks constantly but does nothing, or the man who did something.

Gee... I didn't know they offered a prize for hypocrisy! Shouldn't he have to practice what he preaches before he is rewarded for it?

That's terrible. On the same day that Gore stated that climate change was 'the mostr important moral, ethical, spiritual and political issue humankind has ever faced', it was also revealed that Bush's ranch in TX is more environmentally friendly than Gore's mansion in Tennessee. We all hear the message loud and clear, it's been all over the news media we don't need Gore to go round giving lectures at a price of so many hundreds of dollars to each person who wants to listen. I can't see exactly what he himself is doing. He offsets his carbon footprint with carbon-credits. Which is just paying someone else to stop someone somewhere else emitting carbon, so he can carry on emitting. This doesn't set an example at all, this just tells us to pay someone else to sort out our problems. Since most of us arn't that rich we can't all be as 'energy saving' as Gore.

I am sure there are more scientists who deserve that award but Al Gore is famous and in politics, so he is a shoe in.

I'm not sure I agree with this, why do the celebs have to get all the credit, when we know its the people behind the scene who make the biggest contribution. Al Gore still lives in a massive house, flies everywhere by plane, so when he chooses the eco life then it may be more credible. Its the same with Bono, if he gets a Nobel Peace Prize I swear I may just throw up. The man is on the bandwagon because its trendy at the moment. All the many people who have dedicated their lifes to ending poverty are never recognised but him and Bob Geldoff get all the credit. In my eyes I see this as wrong. They have all made so much money off the backs of other geniune people. They should move aside and let the real scientists and good samaritans get the credit!!

What a joke. The guy gets the big prize for being a politician who is spouting off about a scientific phenomenon. The big surprise will come when we discover that global warming is only mother nature acting natural. I wonder if he will do a special on global cooling and blame man for that too. Many we run our a/c too often...lol.

I don't understand it either. Half of the stuff in the documentary wasn't even correct. What is it that he did to deserve a Nobel prize?...he isn't the first one to talk about global warming or environmental issues, and he didn't even live by what he was saying until someone pointed out how much energy his house was using. Frankly, I just don't see it.

The peace prize seldom goes to a scientist. It almost always goes to a politian. Remember Jimmy Carter won once (tho I think he shared it.) Anyway - Algore's been over there lobbing to get it for some time. But I'm sure it hasn't caused a reduction in his electric bill for his house in TN.
