Here in my office I learnt something new. May be it would be not so, for many of the friends. It was "signature copying". A subordinate was found doing so and upon enquiring it was told that it was just a practice upon having inspiration of beautiful signatures. But the Boss took a strict action and written explanation was called, termed the statement fake as signatures could be used having Malafide intention! What must be the right action by the Boss, if you are asked to put yourself in his place? How would you do if somebody is found copying your signatures .... would you term it as fraudulant activity or become angery or please by knowing that somebody really loves your signatures :) ?

Like the boss, I would suspect that the person copying was possibly trying to copy signatures to get good at forging them. If the other worker was truly innocent of bad intent, then that worker was not being very intelligent. Today people are frequently practicing fraud by copying other people's identity and signature.I think that if the other worker does not lose his job immediately, he should be put on probation and should have some counseling by some kind of a Human Resource counselor.

Yes, some people tend to copy one's identity due to bad intentions behind and possibly the fraud! Is it good to judge that person's previous track record whilst in this office in order to have an in-depth enquiry? Thanks for response friend.

I think I would be sure to make sure that it has a legal inquiry, to add to the "track record". This person may have been involved, and forgiven, in other incidents in the past, at other companies. They could not prove any thing wrong, but did not think it was right, gave a warning, and let it go. I guess I sound like a pessimist today.

I would not like it if someone was copying my signature and especially if they were using it to make purchases or steal money from me. It is called forgery and can get someone arrested if caught doing this activity. I never try to copy anyone' signature as I think it is wrong. A person could get fired from work as well for doing that. People usually copy peoples signatures because they have bad intentions in mind and plan on hurting that other person. Everyone I know has their own signature and does not try to copy someone else's signature.

Yes, this is bad to do so. Well, don't you think that it depends upon the circumstances or nature of people around. Sometimes, one totally does due to some inspiration ammm may be. May be your signatures are so good and attractive that other would try to do likewise. The matter is anyhow sensitive, isn't it? Thanks for response.

signature - sometimes, it also depends on the situation on whether to throw on a joke or have some fun like in copying other's signature. :P
I think it is just right for the Boss to act that way. He is just assuring something on himself. He prevents something from happening if ever something WILL happen in the future. If someone will copy my signature, hmm.. I think he/she idolizes me ha ha! I also do that sometimes with my friends, we compare on who's handwriting and signature is the best and then copy each others and just there period. We are on a different situation. We have no papers and contracts to sign on that's why we can manage to do things like that albeit, sometimes on quizzes and exams, we really need our honesty to work and no more fraud copying of signatures on that. Time, date and place really depends on doing some actions just like this.

I wouldn't be pleased if someone were to copy my signature. My signature is my trademark, I should be the only one to use it. I don't see any legit reason for anyone else to try to use my signature. If I was your boss I would be firing the employee who was copying signatures. I don't feel that this is someone that can be trusted.

Copying others signature is really not a good idea especially if they got a bad intentions or whatever purpose they have.Whether they just like your signature it's still not right.Your signature must be unique thats why I fight with my sister since she always follow my style of making my signature do we have same Initial on our given, middle and lastname basically, I know that she will not do any forgery behind my back but still I want my signature to be unique.Well she can't do it anyway since we have different penmanship though, I got a nice one!

If I found someone copying my signature I will really get mad at him and i will make sure that I have a very hard signature which is not easy to copy. If I were the boss I would probably have taken the same step.

It's called a forgery and it's a crime. I'd call the police. If people were practicing your signature - what is the purpose? Would they use it on official documents? Would they use it to steal your identity? Nothing good can come of it. I'd call the police.

I would also react too. Copying signatures is a no no and should not be encouraged. No one should copy another signature for whatever reason. It is indeed fraudulent activities.

If someone were to copy my signature, I would demand an immediate explanation. I would be very suspicious of fraud for sure since my signature is part of what makes me different from everyone else. To have someone copy it, and then tell me they did it because it was beautiful would just serve to make me angry. My signature is not beautiful, nor is it easy to copy, so for someone to actually practice writing my signature and get it right would only serve to make me furious with them.

Copying signature is against the common ethics. Even if some one finds my signature attractive why should he copy it. After all it is not an artistic creation, it is the identity of myself. There is no need for a man to copy it. If somebody does so it is sure that the intension behind it is malifide. In the case described by you the Boss' action was right. Thank you.

Signatures are a special and important part of today's social structure. It is not a thing to be taken lightly and considered pretty in a way to be copied. They could try the style with their own name but should have more sense than to be copying a signature especially when at work. The Boss was correct in taking a very serious view of this action to be safe for all members concerned. He should give the employee more work to do as they obviously had too much time on their hands.

This is out and out FRAUD. Another form or start of ID theft. I would report it myself to the police etc. The boss was correct in issuing his written explanation. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

If someone loves my signature, he should hang it in his favourite places and not practice reproducing it. It is a serious crime and the fellow doing this can be subject to severe punishment. What your boss did was a correct thing to do. I would even make a report to the police about it so that they are aware that someone may try to indulge in a fraud and put my signature because he has practiced reproducing it. It would be good to place this on police record to safeguard oneself

My signatures are myself ... where these are affixed, become the most like me. I am responsible of all for what I have signed. I will surely not tolerate if somebody use my signatures.

I think even if he/she said it was just by the love of my signature. It's still wrong. Signatures are personal and they are used for so many important things. And to copy it during and in office hours is quite mischievous. I mean, he/she has more important things to do, right? Why waste time copying someones signature if not for something more rewarding in return? It sounds phony to me. And he/she becomes an expert to this "art". It can be quite dangerous. And not to mention, it can also tarnish the reputation of the company for having an employee expert in forgery. (^^,)

Waisting time hmmmm yes, the practice like that can be done in spare time. I had another discussion "Why people sit late in office?" I think that it is quite possible that after office hours whilst late sitting. Thanks for response friend. Take Care!

By copying signature, I believe that you have meant Copying the Signature style and formatting. As long as the copied signature has HIS/HER signature, I dont mind someone copying my signature. Infact, I feel more good that someone find my signature more appealing and beautiful that they decided to follow them. At the same time, I will also ensure them it wont be causing anything bad one me directly or indirectly. I think this is the reason why your boss was worried about. I will talk to that person and ask him to go for a new signature. But I wont be angry with him even if he continuous to follow my signature.

O Dear! I hope you are doing all in good sense and this is the fact that signatures are one's identity and it must not be copied. But be careful that if your identity is misused then it would lest create trouble for you. Thanks for response & take care!
