As far as I know, it's not where I am. I'm really surprised more states haven't jumped on the band wagon and banned cell phone use while driving yet. One of my daughter's friends was actually texting while driving...I gave him a good butt chewing lol..that's insane!! Talking is distracting enough, I don't see how they can text at the same time.

Here in India it is banned too and I think that it is right not to talk on cellphone while driving, it should be illegal everywhere. At all times it may not seem to be justifeid but just in case you have something breath taking told to you on the cell while you are driving, than it might be difficult for you to handle everything.

It is illegal in England. I think the law was only passed fairly recently. To me, it's common sense and I'm sure it is to other people but obviously we need a law to tell some people these things. Still, people still do it and usually they are the ones who would blame someone else if there was an accident so the law doesn't really make a lot of difference here as it isn't often enforced.

It is illegal in India to use cell-phone while driving. But it is not implemented strictly and you can see a great majority of people using cell-phone while driving in the busy areas of a city and right in front of the police/ traffic police. There are a few cases wherein some people have been fined. But such cases are just a few.

Yes, I am in Ireland and it is illegal to drive and talk on a cell phone, or mobile phone as we call them. There was eevn talk of making it illegal for them to be in the car. They are thinking of forcing drivers to put them in the boot, or what you know as the trunk. I guess even using the hands free devices are starting to be considered dangerous, although I really don't see how it cn be worse than the radio or talking to passengers. Nearly everyone ignores the rule, anyhow.

It is not illegal yet in my state to drive and talk on the cell phone. Some states do have this law but we are not one of them as of yet. I think now with all the cell phone accessories that are available more and more people are driving and talking at the same time. It would be nice if it were a law in all states.

It isn't illegal in NY-- but you have to have a hands free cell phone- You can't use your normal cell- Bluetooth is big here- I'm not sure that handsfree is any better- you are still distracted while talking on the phone- but I guess they just want us to have both hands on the wheel.

Its as such not illegal But announced by the indian government not to use mobile phones when driving. Its a major cause for accidents in our country. But I can notice that many people do abide the laws. They just go or driving with there phones , especially those who drive four-wheeler dont seem to care for this a least. Now with the headphones it has become far more easier to speak on the move. i can rarely notice people who park their vechiles along the road side and then speak.

They should be against the law in BC but they aren't yet. I pull over when my phone rings because I am one of those people that curses the people who talk on the cell while driving. I am a professional driver and I see stupidity daily regarding inattention while talking and driving.

hi there. i dont think it is really illegal where i live, i live in davao city, philippines. but i do think that we could get reprimanded by doing so because just the other day, my elder brother was stoped over by a police man because he was seen talking to someone on his cellphone while driving. lolz.

It is also illegal here in the Philippines if you get caught holding your cell while you're driving. Maybe drivers who are regularly usually on their phone should get a wireless ear-piece or use the speaker option on their cells while driving to avoid any accidents. It's for their own good anyway. Texting is definite no-no while driving.
