I like to think of myself as an avid reader.
I have two bookshelves full of books. One is in my bedroom and the other is in the living room. The total for both bookshelves is maybe around 50 physical books.
I also have a Kindle...

We were introduced to this village by old friends who now live about ten doors up from us. They have become good friends of their neighbours and by association, we are now too. The six of us take it in turns to have coffee at one...

pumpkinjam I don't know how many books I have. I do know that I don't have enough room on my bookshelf! It is only a small bookshelf but it is full, there are several books piled on top of other books, then there is a sort of nook in the wall where more books are stored....

Have you noticed how the questions on forms have changed somewhat over the past few years?
Once you never would have seen ‘what pronoun do you prefer’. Vince was highly tempted to put ‘me’, in answer to that.
I have a bit of...

pumpkinjam As a grammar perfectionist, I had a bit of trouble with the "them/they" pronouns. My son then pointed out that we do already use those pronouns when referring to the singular. For example, if we do not know whether a person is male/female or if we are speaking...

As of this moment, as far as I know, my husband will be transferred to rehab today. I will believe it when I see it.
The swelling is down in his arm; and his blood pressure has supposedly been controlled. As far as I know, he...

I have just popped in to wish anyone celebrating it a merry Christmas. If you're in a time zone where it's already been and gone, I hope it was a good one.
It is Christmas Day here as I write this. I made a pixel picture, which I...
