If I've done it right, the image should be one of myself with my 2 bonus daughters and 3 granddaughters. That was my wedding day in 2019.
Today is my eldest granddaughter's birthday. I miss all my girls dearly every day but it's...

I just finished breakfast. It was a slightly odd breakfast, but it is what I was in in the mood for. I had frozen lamb vindaloo with balsamic rice. And matzos with butter on the side, masquerading as naan. Of course the lamb...

pumpkinjam Your breakfast was much more interesting than mine. I had Weetabix... actually, it wasn't even Weetabix. It was Tesco Wheat Bisks or some such thing. I put sweetner and a mix of milk and hot water on them.
As for the weather - I'm in England. By the time I...

I was debating with a friend about whether wealth is good or bad. I warned him that it would be detrimental if the rich individual lacked any financial literacy. The worst case scenario is if they intend to do harm. If we can...

Okay, I admit it--I had oyster plant once--when I joined Weight Watchers in 1967--it was considered a '#3 food'--something you could eat as much as you want--I had 2 bites and never again will I eat it in any form! Also, though I...

pumpkinjam I'll eat most things but have no idea what oyster plant is. Fudge brownie is OK but the main problem with yours is it being in a can! Some canned foods are fine but solid puddings don't belong there! Fudge brownie is a hit and miss one for me. I've had some...

I am not in some certain things.
I do not have much patience with people in general.
Patience is required of us many times in life.
I am no good at waiting and usually will find an alternative quickly when one other does not work...

A myLotter today queried ‘tenterhooks’ as in ‘waiting on tenterhooks’. I guess it’s an old saying but one I’ve known all my life. So I googled it, as one does, and discovered that a tenter is a wooden frame used for stretching...

I think many know we’re heading to Ireland soon to visit our son and his wife. We haven’t been since 2019 when covid disrupted so many plans and lives.
We are now 76 and 75 and already travel insurance companies are checking on...

pumpkinjam Irish law is the same as ours (England) regarding driving. There is something, I think, that allows a person to drive any car but that wouldn't work if the person can't get the insurance. I also thinks it is expensive and complicated to arrange. Good thing...

I'm asking this because
The other day
The Chancellor of the Exchequer raised the price of my nails in the coffin by almost £1 on a pack of 20
Making an average cost brand about £12 per pack.
Too much for me so guess what
I...

pumpkinjam I wish you luck. I know it's hard to give up, whatever your reasons. I don't smoke but my husband does. As we're in England, I'm guessing his cigarettes cost the same as yours. He's bought himself a vape as well, although I'm not sure he's using it to replace...

First, you all know that Edinburgh is a city in Scotland. It is not a very big city by global standards, but a nice clean Scottish city though decidedly having a cold temperature. Unlike in London, where there are very many Indian...

pumpkinjam I do enjoy Indian food, and am always on the lookout for new restaurants and cuisines to try. I've never really had any desire to go to Edinburgh, though! Perhaps if you ever visit restaurants in Wales, English midlands or South West then I'll check them out...
