Bad cholesterols, anyone?

A "bad cholesterol" breakfast - We are now concerned about our health; my son was diagnosed to have high levels of bad cholesterol and has to be put on a low protein, low fat diet, composed of fish, vegetables and fruits. I am concerned that maybe it's not only him but me as well because we eat the same foods. But my son plays badminton at least once a day as his exercise; I am praying that such condition would improve and that he could control himself against eating fatty foods.

My son complained of pain on his left arms and legs, prompting us to bring him to the doctor for check-up. He went through all lab tests including EKG, potassium, sugar, CBC, 2D Echo, but thankfully his heart is normal! It was discovered though that he has high levels of bad cholesterol and was put on diet and medication. I would like to ask anyone who has experienced high cholesterol levels in their body if there were symptoms before being diagnosed to being one. Also, how to maintain the so-called "good cholesterol" after coming out from the condition?
