I have a 2 year old son Angel who has long hair. People mistake him for a girl all the time. I do understand why they might think that but come on he has blue on. Anyway I have not cut his hair yet because he has the cutest curls. And I'm afraid if I cut his hair his curls will not come back. I have had plenty of people tell me dont cut it braid it or put it up but dont cut it. Does anyone else have a little boy with long hair? What do other people say to you about your sons hair? Here a pic of my son with his adorable curls.

Awww! Keep it like that! My son has had long hair, but he's gets a crazy fro when it gets long, so I cut it often, otherwise he looks like he got electrocuted lol. Even when he has short hair, people call him "she", my son also has that angelic face. I've had people tell me he's too pretty to be a boy lol, I think the same of your son, I hope that doesn't sound weird ;) But he's very cute!

My partner was blue eyed & curly blonde when he was a little tacker & apparently he lost his curls when he had them cut off the first time - he also ended up not being blonde either! I guess it depends on whether you're happy to spend a lot of time brushing/combing his hair all the time so it doesn't look all messy & out of control or if you want to risk his curls not coming back if you get it cut. Oh wearing blue doesn't mean much these days i don't think, my daughter looks gorgeous in blue so i put her in it a lot! I guess she might look like a little boy too though, we once got asked if she was a girl or boy even though she was in a bright pink outfit! Just do what you think is best, if the curls & length are getting too much to control, then cutting it might be the best idea, just remember the curls might not come back. Good luck!

I will give it a little while longer and see how much it makes him mad to have it long.

He is very cute! You will cut it when it's time for you. My son was adorable with his long hair. I wouldn't give him his first hair cut because I didn't think it was necessary. Finally, I decided to go ahead and cut it. He looked so different and grown. Now, I look at those pics and wonder what I was thinking leaving it that long for so long.

Your little boy is adorable! If you like the curls, there is no reason to cut it. My 16 month old son's hair is naturally really wavy. If I towel dry it and scrunch it a little bit when it's still wet, it's curly. And he's had over a dozen haircuts. But my husband and his mom both have really curly hair, and so does my dad, so I'm not at all surprised by that. I've always kept my son's hair pretty short, though. He had his first haircut before he was a week old, and has never gone more than about 6 weeks without a haircut since then. Normally I cut it every 3 weeks when I cut my husband's. But a lot of that is probably because my husband is military, so we both are just used to the short hair and like the way it looks on our son.

Yeah that's my son in my avatar picture. His hair is actually kind of long for him in that picture, it's the winter cut. We just buzzed it back down on the sides yesterday for summertime. If my son decided later he wants a mohawk, I will let him have one. ;) I'll let him decide for himself how he wants his hair. I've cut several mohawks since I've lived here, in North Dakota. They seem to be more popular here than in Missouri (where we are from)

I also decided to let my son get a Mohawk if that is what he really wants.

Is that your son in your avatar pic? I think if you like his hair short like that then its your choice. For now anyway wait until he comes home and asks for a Mohawk. I say that because my 8 year old son wants one.

long-haired boys - Here´s my little ragamuffin!
I love his hair and agree with the others that you should wait! My son also has long hair, but it is just messy, not curly at all. I want to cut it but it is so thin that if we do, I´m afraid he´ll look bald!

Awww... He is a cutie. My oldest son also had thin hair as a baby. And I say had because now its thick as it could be. I think its your choice but in my opinion you should also wait.

what a lovely baby.in my country if a baby has little hair, the parent will offen cut it.because we believe hair will grow faster and much more in quantity when it is cut often. sorry for my poor english.i don't know if you can understand what i said

So he's wearing blue. My daughter wears blue all the time (it's her favorite color) and has since she was a baby. People used to think she was a boy until she got older. If his hair is this curly now, it'll probably still be curly after a trim. You don't have to get it cut that short, just a light trim to even it out a bit but keep the curls.

I also did not cut my son's hair until he was 2. It was a big step for me. He had the most beautiful waves and curls. I was afraid they wouldn't come back so I only got it cut a little. Just enough to where you really couldn't hardly even tell it was cut. But it was a big step for me. And the next time it got easier. Maybe if you just get it trimmed a little it won't get rid of all the curls.

If you like it then leave it, he is little (and adorable!!!) so it isn't a big deal! If someone says something about "her" say "Well SHE is a HE with a pen*s"...see what they say! Sorry I just think that might be funny!! I think he is really cute so leave it if you like it!! P.S. Why can't we use the word pen*s?? That is weird, they made me change it!!

He is adorable! I do no think he looks like a girl at all! I would just get him a trim so his hair will thicken a little. I do not think he will lose his curls with just a trim. Good luck!

A beautifull baby. I like him very much . I think that you should not care about what other people's saying .You love him and like his look that is ok. I have a 1 year old daughter , many people think she is a boy.Because her hair is few and she acted up very much .She dresses often neutered. I and all of my families love she very much ,we don't care about what other's saying. you also can do it .

I like long hair on boys, so I'd be one saying not to cut it. My cousin has a 3 year old with long blond hair and it is so pretty. She keeps it long, even though people keep telling her to cut it so he looks like a boy.

Wow! What a cutie! Welcome to the curly headed mommy club. We love our curly haired babies, don't we? I could tell in an instant just by looking at the picture that your child was a boy. So, I'm thinking people are just trying to politely give you a hint that they think his hair is too long. And, that's why they're mistakenly calling him a "her". Tacky! Just ignore them. You have a very handsome little man, there. Or, maybe they're just so jealous that their own kids aren't as cute as yours. Either way. If you like his hair long and he likes it too, feel free to leave it long. It looks great. As far as hair care goes, I find that plain bar soap does a better job on my own kid's curly hair. The traditional baby shampoos just cause her curly hair to be frizzy and unmanageable. Use mild shampoo just on the scalp. Rinse thoroughly. Then lather the bath soap in your hand and apply directly to the curls. Rinse and allow curls to dry naturally. When I do this she has the most amazing curls! Hope that tip helps you out.

baby - a baby boy mistaken as a girl
and your baby is adorable and really cute. hehe. well, usually little boys are mistaken as girls. my brother once had in that situation. he has this very shiny straight hair when he was small and people says "oh, what a cute little girl" with his blushing cheeks. hehe. i also know a kid who is three years old mistaken to be a girl since he has a long hair. but his parents do not mind what people say. all they know is that their kid is clever, cute and healthy. hehe.

I think that his curls are adorable. One of my sons had curls like that too, and I didn't have the heart to cut them until he was a little older even though people always thought he was a girl.

it is a big thing to get their baby curls cut and it will have to come one day unless you want him to always have long hair. At least you save on hair cuts. My nephew had curly hair and he never lost that but once he became a man he always had his head shaved as he couldn't stand all the messing about with his hair trying to make it look tidy. You will still think your little boy is the cutest thing even when he does get his hair cut.

First of all, I have to say that your son looks very cute. My son looks like a girl, too. People often makes a mistake to it. Perhaps he has big eyes and sweet smile. Therefore, we decide to let him have very short hair so that he looks like a boy. I think your son will still look very cute no matter he has adorable curls or not:)

He is gorgeous! I want to say don't cut it!!! I can speak from personal experience on this.My second son was born with a full head of hair. By 3 mos old it started to curl. they were so beautiful. We got all kinds of comments about how beautiful 'she is' and old is 'she' Don't ever cut 'her' hair. Even when decked out in blue from head to toe. Or wearing his 'I'm the little brother' t-shirt. We knew from our older sons hair, once we cut it it won't grow back. But he got hot and sweaty and always got things stuck in it.So we finally gave in. They never came back. They were such a beautiful honey golden color . Now our youngest has some curly hair. And when heputs a hat on he looks all girl. We have only gotten a few rude 'girly' comments. My husband refuses to cut it. As much as I don't want tolose it, I will cut it eventually. Maybe if you just trim it and keep it growing and long they will stay. But from my experience, once cut they did not grow back
