Spam..........What is the point of sending it to people's email accounts?

Why do people send spam to people's personal email accounts? I open my email account and my bulk mail area will be full every day. It is all spam. Most days, I just hit the "empty" button without even looking at any of it. So what is the point of sending it to me in the first place? I did not look at it. I threw it away unopened. Now after doing this many times, the spammers should quit sending stuff to me as I am not reading it. No, They send me more. They send the same stuff over and over and over. Do they not get it? I don't want their stuff. These spammers have got to be really dumb. They are wasting their time, energy and efforts with me. If they really annoy me, I block them. So, really what is the point of sending spam since the advertising is obviously not working for them? What do you think of spam emails? Do you read them? Do open them? Do you trash them? Does anyone believe the stuff that is being offered or advertised?

Did you see the Yahoo news article yesterday?? They busted one of the top ten spammers in the world. There was a 35 count indictment against him and he pled guilty to all of the charges. The guy was only 27 years old. Now if they bust the other nine, we could see a reduction in spam in our email inboxes.

I don't even bother with checking my bulk mail anymore. When I first got my computer I would scroll thru it and check it. I have over 1000 emails in my bulk, its gets deleted after 30 days. I used to delete it everyday but the delete button has quit working, I just ignore it now.

I report them as spam and delete them. I never open them because you can never know what kind of virus they attach to the email. It makes you wonder - like you stated - why they even send them because I'm almost certain 99.9% of people don't read them - just send them straight to the trash.

They are hoping you will look at your bulk e-mail folder for anything that should have gone in the main box. While you are there, maybe their spam will catch your eye.

Most of the spam I get goes to the bulk mail, which automatically gets deleted after a couple of weeks. I never look to see what's in there,as its usually in the hundreds. What bothers me is the obvious scam emails that somehow get thru the filters. I keep getting notifications that I won some kind of foreign lottery. I delete them, but I'm wondering why I get them in the first place.

People with too much time on their hands. That is what that is and the malicious attitude that they carry. I can view my spam folder rather quickly dispose of the once for real. Anyway, it is a matter of telling your mail to rid the iffy ones when you tell it to and it works so much better. It is us against them it seems.

I can't stand junk mail, and no I don't read it nor ever open it. I reckon someone figures if they can get just one sucker out of every 100 or so, it's worth filling everyone's mailbox with. It so drives me nuts to know I have to empty the dumb think every day. As for it I believe the stuff that is being offered, nope. Great deals aren't forced on people to check out, scams are.

some of it get through the filter, and my bulk has been up over 1000 often. I had one today that had no 'from' and the subject was (none). I sent it straight to the trash. I also emptied the trash! That is the first thing I get rid of when I open my e-mail!

When I open up my bulk email folder I do the same thing that you do....empty it out without reading any of the emails. It is so aggravating to receive so much spam. Even when I try to unsubscribe from them, usually about ten more come in its' place.

I reckon they do it because it DOES work. They bombard lots of people and I guess a few ninnies will answer. That's probably what they go for...a few out of every hundred. It's about numbers i guess.

I get tons of spam every day too, and I also delete it and block what I can. They know that you don't want their spam, but they will continue sending it, hoping that some of it might slip past your filters and that you will open it, even if by accident. Someone out there must fall for their schemes or they would have given up a long time ago.
