Bread and Butter?

My stomach is calling. Should I be having my supper now? Or is it breakfast since it is early morning now?
I take it that I am having breakfast since there is only wholemeal bread available. I know very well I would not have time for breakfast tomorrow.
Now, what spread should I put since I would be in bed in an hour's time?There is a whole array of spreads... butter, cheese, peanut butter, fruit jam, kaya or egg jam... and yes, sugar.
When you eat bread, how do you like your bread? Spread and toast or toast then spread or do you just eat it plain without spreads or just spread without toasting?
What spread do you go with your bread? Other than those listed above, there are garlic spread, mushroom spread, marmite, vegetable spread etc.

When I am in a hurry and I need a quick meal, it will be peanut butter.I can eat that while I drive to work. I do not know about egg jam. Explain it, please. Something tasty is Italian dressing on bread then toast it. I love plain butter on my bread, or butter and honey. If I am putting butter on it I go ahead and toast it first, then the butter melts all the way in, yummy. If someone wants to add jelly or jam, this is when they will do that, on top of the delicious melted butter. I like real butter, not margarine.

Egg jam is made from eggs, sugar and coconut milk. Originally was brown color but variations can be orange and green. Tastes sweet and somewhat creamy. Often used as a spread for toasted bread with a small slab of butter. Rather popular in Singapore.

Thanks for explaining. I do not think I will rush right out and try to find some. It sounds kind of strange to me. I will admit, I could be missing something good.

Hello bighead. So you're still awake, eh. Is your head too full that you can't hit the bed early. Such a thin body. You need to eat more. Forget about those spread, LOL!
I only use whole wheat or the french bread. I don't like the jam very much. Unsalted butter is my topmost favorite. Its easier and faster to prepare. I will spread the butter on the bread and toast it. I also mix the bread with egg and fry it. Its delicious. Try it. I also make my own tuna and chicken spread. My girls love it.

I like tomatoes,cheese and mayonnaise on my bread.When I have time in hand,I fry the bread with eggs and it comes out delicious.I don't like jam on my bread ,but I eat yogurt with bread.I use mayonnaise as a substitute for butter and it's also very yummy.

I like peanut butter on my bread. If I have toast, then I like to have butter and jelly or jam on it. I love toast with jelly on it and strawberry jelly is my favorite.

I like white bread best with butter. Toasted it. I dont care for jelly very much or anything else. Just butter or margarine. Yum!! On the rare occasion I have wheat or wholegrain bread I also use butter on it and toast it.

i toast then spread. i usually have vegemite (yes i am australian, and no it doesn't taste like crap, you probably just ate it wrong). i have never heard of kaya or egg jam before, what is that?

I am not taht much to bread. It is not like that I don't like at all or I don't eat, but I eat bread less. Bread is not a regular food for me. But when I eat bread I like it with spread. In spread I like butter and different kind of fruit jam. I don't like peanut butter at all. And definitely I like my bread toasted. And also one is way I like to eat my bread is make a omelete with onion and little jhalapino peper and put it in the middle of two toasted bread, you can say like sandwish.

I prefer toasting brown or wheat bread with a spread of butter and jam, or peanut butter or even honey. Sometimes I have sliced bananas on them too. Goes down well with a nice hot cup of coffee :)

Wow, I love scrambled eggs best with sliced bread, but when I dont feel like cooking I just settle for the cheese or other spreads available at home.

Wow, your post is making me feel hungry! ;) I always add something to bread to make it a little more palatable.
I like toasted bread, hot from the oven. I like to add some butter to it and top it off with a sprinkling of sugar. Simple and excellent!
I also enjoy spreading nutella on my bread. It has this ultra rich creamy chocolate taste that I can't resist! Yummy!
Sometimes, I add some mayo to tuna and then I'd spread it on my bread. This tastes good too.

I love putting butter on my bread. Then after the butter, some sugar on top. I really love the taste of it. If I like it toast, then I go to the oven to have it toasted but usually, I am contented with the natural flavor without the added heat ha ha ha!

I like my bread toasted before I spread. I like butter and strawberry jams for breakfast.
