Sometimes I can go to a website and the text is so small that I can hardly see it. I discovered, by accident that if I held down the Ctrl and scrolled the wheel on my mouse the content would enlarge and if I scrolled it the other way, it would get smaller. I saves going up to the browser menu and selecting magnify. Have you any computer tips that you found by accident? Or any computer tips that you'd like to share?

I usually don't use shortcuts. The ones I use are the basic ones like ctr+c to copy and ctr+v to paste. those are the ones I need most and that's why I know them by heart.

Yes, they are very useful and I find much quicker than using a mouse. Thanks for responding :-)

I don't have any tips l can think of, l do things so automatically that l don't think of them as tips. Thanks for posting your tip for making text larger. I know l have been to a few websites that have tinny text and this will help a lot.

Thanks for responding. Yes, I tend to do things automatically without thinking, but have been surprised when others don't know how to do something, that's why I thought I would put up posts now and again about it. Like I automatically press ctrl and A toghether to highlight text and press ctrl and C to copy it, then press ctrl and V to paste it somewhere else. My sister who has worked with computers for years didn't know this and was using the mouse, which to me, takes much longer. :-)

Note, the trick you posted only works with Internet Explorer 7. Some more useful shortcuts: Alt+f4 : Close window Alt+Tab : Switch between windows (hold it down to bring up a list of open windows) Alt+PrintScreen : Print Screen on only the active window
