Have you ever used egg whites as a facial mask?

My mom used egg whites as a facial mask, she always had a beautiful complexion (you never would have known she was 77). I used it when I was a teenager, I always had pretty clear skin myself. I have had people comment that I have such a smooth complexion, I don't use them all the time because quite frankly I forgot about it. I remembered it a couple of days ago. Instead of using eggs, separating them and wasting the yolks, I bought a carton of egg whites, it's a lot cheaper than commercial facial masks, you just put a little in a cup or bowl and whisk it as though you're going to scramble them. Smooth it over your (dry) face and wait a few minutes for it to dry. You'll feel your skin pulling tighter but it's not painful, then rinse it off with warm water. I have very sensitive skin and since this is natural it doesn't bother my skin at all. If you try this, I hope you like the results.

I used to do that too sometimes. I haven't done it in a really long time cause I just haven't really thought about it and I always felt sort of bad for wasting the yolks. I didn't realize you could buy just the whites though, so maybe I should look for those at the store and trying doing it more often. If it really helps that much, then I guess I should get into the habit of doing it while I'm still young! :)

Yes, the egg white facials do work really well. But, I am always concerned that I will make myself sick from the salmonella. I hear that Gynetth Paltrow sprays a combo of milk and water on her face throughout the day to keep her skin looking smoothe and youthful. My trick for a flawless complexion is to mix dry black tea leaves and a gentle facial cleanser, and then massage gently over damp skin. Tissue off and wash face completely. It works to brighten complexion, remove dull skin cells and keep skin pimple free.

I had forgotten about that as a skin toner. My grandmother used it once a week for as long as I can remember and she always had the most beautiful complexion.

i am doing this since i was 15. my mom does this and i try to imitate her. if you can see my skin it is very soft and no pimples. egg is all natural no chemical. but the only problem is the smell but i got used to it all over the years. so if ever i used eggs for breakfast i keep the shells for later then put the whites of the egg that are still there on the shell. i dont really open an egg for me (i dont want to waste a whole egg. lol)

I have not used any facial mask. However, I have heard that egg whites are good for the face, but never try it as it is time consuming and wasteful to use eggs. Cucumber does the same trick. I used "instant" cream bought from the supermarket. My mum used it from young and had her formula passed down to us.
