The Mylot monthly writing contest.

Anyone else think this could be a good idea? Mylot could come up with a discussion thread each month and the members have to come up with responses to that disussion (with a minimum of say 150 words) and then Mylot votes on the best and the winner gets a prize of $10 or so. There are a lot of good writers here so they could set it up so that the same person couldn't win it two consecutive months...what do you all think?

I think that this is a great idea. I'm kind of surprised they haven't done something like this already. Maybe the right person will see this and get the idea going.

I think this is an EXCELLENT idea, inked4life. This would provide incentive, increase involvement, and raise standards. There could also be contests for the best discussions as well. For example, myLot could have monthly (or weekly or daily) contests for the best discussion in various categories.

i think thats a great idea and would certainly add to the motivation to write well, but why limit it to only winning it once and then being debared, surely talent should be rewarded?

That sounds like a good idea! I would participate in a contest like that. I hope that they take you up on that idea. Have you suggested it yet?

I think this is a very good idea. Also it would be fun to do, and spice things up a bit. Getting paid would sweeten the pot.
