I'm so excited I would love to do cartwheels, but if I did might break my neck--LOL
I'm so glad I was home today instead of doing my usual errands otherwise I would have missed the call because the caseworker at Social Security is one hard person to contact otherwise.
Around 1:30 p.m. today, Friday, June 1st, a day that will live in infinity I got a call from the caseworker at Social Security -- she said she had put aside a lot of her other cases to concentrate and work on my case and she said it was because I had Congressional intervention as I had contacted my local Congressman...It will still take a week or two to "formally" be re-instated for my benefits--BUT they're are definitely re-instated. Not only am I to get this months benefits, but last month's benefits AND my so-called overpayment they claimed I owed in the amount of $4,910.00 has been completely waived!!!! I don't owe them a thing!!
Like I said I'm so happy I'd like to do cartwheels -- and I want to thank you all for your prayers...they worked!!
And hey....looks like the month of June is a winner now!!!!
Yahoooooooo!! :-) I think you can tell I'm happy, huh?

Well, I'd say that contacting your Congressman to help was the right thing to do. I hope everyone else who is applying will remember to do that if they run into any problems.
Congratulations! And I sure can tell you're happy, as you should be. Prayers continue.

Oh My Gosh I am soooo very happy with you, I just knew when you got your congressman involved things would be moving quickly, just like it did when I contacted them about back child support, it is the beaurocrats at Social Security that thought your monthly support was not worth the extra time and I am glad you got the support you needed without it costing you anything, justice finally is deserved by you. Go out and celebrate it, you deserve it!!!

Yipee! Yipee! I can't tell you how happy I am for you. No one should have to go through what you did! You certainly came through the test, though. You not only kept your sanity and your sense of humor, but you kept your sense and kept chipping away at that piece of granite called our govenment. I am so proud of you! Now write a book about it!

Whoo hoo, whoo hooo. I'm doing the happy dance for you and my cats are giving me really strange looks. I think they are wondering if I've been in their cat nip :)
I think this is great news. Perhaps the month of June will be better for us all. I can hope right? At least it's better for you. Too bad they won't throw interest in there as well but at least they got it fixed. That's good. It's just a shame to get them to do their job right you had to involve a Congressman but it did the trick, that's all that matters.

LOL--my cats are looking at their mom strange too...I'll keep my prayers for you too, since I know you just started your battle with SSI--uh, mmm..maybe you should get a Congressman on your side too--hey it definitely helped me!! Otherwise I would've watched my hair turn grey waiting.

You are quite welcome and I'm just glad that it turned out well so quickly.
Well I have some paper work to fill out and then it goes from there. Right now we have a congressman helping with my sisters and don't want to push my luck.

Thanks ever Katlady...LOL..yeah...I shouldn't attempt cartwheels ...although I've been doing a few dances around the apartment and literally singing at the top of my lungs...ah, to the annoyance of my cats who are giving me really strange looks, as if to say, "Oh, yeah, our mom's lost it"--LOL

Hi pyewacket. Might I join you to do some cartwheel too. Bunny can do great cartwheel, you know, LOL! I'm so lost with all this SSI Disability fiasco. I was inactive again and wasn't able to comment back on some of my previous threads yet.
I'm so glad with the outcome of this matter. Its a good thing you are wise enough to have this Congressional intervention. Good for you. I can feel your happiness too.

I'm so happy this worked out favorably for you. The whole thing was silly, but the important part is that you won. I just hate it when people go through stress because of someone else's mistakes. I'm still in the process of getting my latest saga with SSI worked out. I filled out a waiver and an appeal form so they would stop telling me I owed them $1,600 and they wouldn't start taking it out of my check next month. I have some peace about it. Knowing it worked out for you makes me feel better too. Congratulations!

I know one who teaches at the college I have attended and who works with my mom. Also, one of my dad's friends has one in his church and said that the guy offered to help if he could. I may just have to take him up on it. Thanks for reminding me about that. : )

Hooray pyewacket! I'm truly happy to hear that you will continue to receive benefits AND that your bogus overpayment has been waived. You must be tremendously relieved. And let's hear it for congressional intervention! It's encouraging to hear that our representatives can actually represent us.
What a great way to usher in the new month and weekend! I hope you celebrate this weekend in a BIG way.
