I have always been prochoice on abortion. It's a woman's right to do what she wants with her body right! Well, yesterday, I heard Mother Teresa's view and I totally agree. She says that when you receive a child you are receiving Jesus. If you kill your fetus you are killing the Lord and denying Jesus. OMG, when I heard that, that made total sense. If you are pregnant and do not want your baby, GO WITH ADOPTION. There are married couples that will take care of your baby.

The first question that comes to my mind is, how does Mother Teresa know this? I'm pretty sure, it doesn't say this in the Bible. Even if she's correct, people have different ideas about when personhood starts. Her thoughts could also apply to a fetus at any stage of development, depending on one's views. Lots of Christians are pro-choice.

You don't want to give your child up ... but you would be willing to kill it? You don't know if they would suffer in the home of an adoptive family, but I'm pretty sure that when they get ripped, limb from limb and sucked through a vaccum that pretty much defines "suffering".

What make's you so sure they can feel. At the time of an abortion, who say's they feel anything. Now at eight month's of gestation, that might be true. Come on can you really expect me to believe that at 4 week's they can feel something. I don't believe it. I think it is worse to give a baby up then to have an abortion. That is my opinion and that is my right as a woman.

Baloney...A woman has a right to choose and none of us have the right tell her different even if we don't agree with her choice!

I totally agree with Mother Teresa and repent for the sin i committed in going for abortion twice due to our financial pressure and as no one was there to take care of my second child.

I totally agree with this, in the Bible it says that children are a blessing and a reward, but I believe that it could mean that they aren't just a blessing and reward to the birth parent, God has a will and a plan, and His plan could be for that baby to be here for someone else who can not have kids, I respect anyone who has ever had a baby and given it for adoption, it is the hardest thing in life to do, at least to me, but at the same time you know that you are giving someone the most precious gift, as well as giving your child a better life

If God has a will & a plan; isn't it safe to assume He's aware of whom will choose to terminate? And therefor termination is part of His plan?

most often the choice of abortion comes, not from the inabilty to care for the child, but the inability to carry the child. I have 5 children. Pregancy can be horrible under the best of circumstances. I can only imagine having to carry and unwanted pregnancy for 9 months. Let's see, preclampsia, gestational diabetes, premature contractions that have you on you back for weeks, bleeding, headaches, stomach aches, morning sickness, heart palpitations. The list goes on and on. If it is a planned, wanted pregancy, one can work through these discomforts. If it is an unplanned, unwanted pregancy, these discomforts can turn to horrors, and the stress of the situation can make such pains worse. Then there is labor. Can you see yourself going through such torture for a baby you don't want. STOP for a second. Put yourself into someone else's shoes. Open your mind, then maybe open your heart.

Life is very precious. Abortion produces phobias, psychological disorder because it is unnatural. Love for Jesus is what Mother Teresa taught. How can there be love in the world if in that instance, a mother can kill her own baby?

Birth control is unnatural, too. But mankind have been doing both for centuries. Also, not all women regret their abortions. I personally have a phobia against pregnancy. I would probably kill myself if I was forced to be pregnant.

Good. I have started a discussion with a topic on birth control - The Bible on Birth Control. I hope you go to my Profile and open such topic to hear what the Bible says. It is not directly said birth control but that is an example of avoiding conception. There is a question there and I hope that you participate in the discussion. I have started other discussions on topics relating to the Holy Bible. May God bless you. SEN

I love Mother Teresa with all my heart, but I disagree with her on that one. I am shocked she would have said such a thing, but doesn't matter. Jesus never touched the topic of abortions, even though they did occured before he came to earth. If it was that important, THAT big of a sin, I am sure he would have. I do beleive Jesus would say value the female over the unborn. She is here and she is who you are to love and respect like a sister. Honor her choice for only she know's what she can and can not do. You nor I can not walk in her shoes. There for I support choice.

Wow. Its a very thoughtful discussion indeed. I do support you in this case. In this world we have lots of couples who does not have kids. If you are pregnant and do not want a child, you can let any of such couples have your child. Its really a wonderful thing. Let your child live in the same world where you are living.
