Effexor sucks and can have permanent side effects, like nerve damage. A safer way to deal with deppression is to inject methanphedamene. Before you go on a rant, I have taken more of it than you could ever imagine. It caused high blood pressure and kidney and nerve damage that will never go away.

Wow, thanks for all the responses, guys! I'm not sure about the "mature content" tag, however, LOL.
I think maybe, a new discussion topic?

The only side effect I have is one hour after I take it I become very tired...I can take a cat nap and be good for the rest of the day. I actually love Effexor because of it's seeming lack of side effects. I did have an episode where I went off it for 3 days...I had vertigo so bad I could barely move. I won't be going off my effexor anytime soon.

I take Effexor for nerve damage caused from Multiple Sclerosis. My anxiety is next to nil

I've been taking effexor for years and have found no side effects at all. There have been times I've gone days without it and have no withdrawal symptoms. I have to admit for me it is the best medication for depression that I take although I do take others.

You're really lucky! Maybe it's just individual biochemistry, but the withdrawal is hellllllll.

Just got back from doc she increased my effexor to the max allowed. I told her I wasn't depressed just felt like I was in auto pilot, with some lows sometimes, no highs. I'm so tired of depending on medicine that if I don't have, I'm in bed crying for days. I know I need them, I got off them last year and went through the withdrawls, after about a month I felt great, then about a month later I found myself in the darkest depressein yet. People don't know how blessed they are to not have this. Today I'm down, maybe because of the thought of the
increase in effexor but truthfully I don't have a clue, like always why I get like this. Damn these lows, damn Effexor, damn depression u Suck!!!!!

I would say that the worst sideeffect was chest pains. I was in so much pain, and I couldn't sleep all night. It was terrible, but when I asked my psychiatrist about it, he was very sceptical and kept repeating that he had never heard about that sideeffect before. He tried to pursuade me to continue with effexor, but I was determined to quit, and I so happy I insisted. I don't have much positive to say about effexor, the sideeffects were too much and it wasn't worth it.

For me I think the worst side effect is missing a dose. I can really feel the side effects light headed dizzy nauses.
It is such an awful feeling you just know you missed a dose.
