Keeps drapes/blinds closed during day, hang clothes outside instead of using dryer, set A/C to not less than 77(I have mine set at 78). If you have central air some electric companies can put a switch on it to control the a/c during the hottest days so as not to have a power outage due to extreme electric use. Mine even gives me a discount on electric so long as that switch is on during the hot months. My ceiling fans go non-stop on low 24/7 365 days which helps circulate the cool air in summer and warm air in winter. Shut lights and tv off if not using them. Last but not least, shut your computer completely down when not using it. I discovered my eletric bill really dropped during the 3 months I didn't have internet service just cause I shut my computer off and wasn't on it that much.

I forgot..the microwave and crock pot use a heck of lot less energy than a electric or gas stove.

I like to unplug appliances that I'm not using. I unplug the microwave, TV, computer, and even lamps when I'm not using them--even when they're off, they still use up power if they're plugged in.
Another thing I like to do is to spend a lot of time outside of my apartment, that way I won't have to always have the air conditioner on. I like to go to coffee shops, libraries, or academic buildings where they have free air conditioner.

try to do some inventory on all of your electrical appliances that is plugged in a socket then unplug them if they are not in use or if not frequently use because they still emit electricity eventhough the appliances are shut off.if you use some airconditionng, put it in a timer mode to turn off by itself.turn off all unneccessary lights.do not frequently open and close the refrigirator.

Open the windows to let in cooler air. Many people turn on their air conditioner, which increases their electric bill. Turn off your television when nobody is watching it. Turn off lights in a room that your not going to be in for awhile and use the lowest watt bulb that you can in a room.

We save in the nicer warmer months by:
hanging clothes out to dry on the clothes line- eliminating dryer
in the morning- shut the shades, curtains, and windows to keep it cooler in the house-
At night open the windows and put in window fans- it will cool the house down at night
we grill out almost every night- reducing our gas & electric bill
ride bikes for small errands- reducing gas cost
that's all I can think of right now- Happy writing!

I am going to be getting insulated curtians for my place this year. They help to keep the sun from heating up your home in the summer (this is especially helpful in you get afternoon sun), and help to insulate around your windows in the winter, saving you on heating bills.
I use fans more than AC and never leave the AC on if I'm not in the house. Putting a fan in front of you AC also helps to spread the cooler air faster.
Keep lights off, eat more no or low cook meals like salads, and cold soups.

I keep my air set on 79 and also if you have ceiling fans, that also helps. Other than that I don't know of any others.
