I use to sing in a Choir, years ago but quit, I want to start back, I feel like i want to get more involed with the Church, even though we don't have a Pastor. we will get one soon I hope, I had so much faith in the old pastor that we voted out of the church. I am kind of linery on us getting another pastor. I had really looked up to him. I know you ask what did he do, well it was all aout money. Anyway, do you sing in the Choir at your Church? I love to sing in Church or in the Choir. Have a good day! Thanks Marcie.

Growing up as a child I used to sing in the school choir and in the church choir, it has been years since I have joined the church choir but I enjoy going to our service on Sundays which is a contemporary service and there is alot of singing going on.

Singing is good, sometimes our church does not use a worship guide and I find it hard to find the music that I might hum just to keep up, but I know I always feel better after a good church singing time. Good Morning to you Marcie, how are you today??

I sang in the church choir growing up in the church. When I reached the age to be able to join the adult choir I realized that my singing could possible peel the paint off the church walls...LOL. So I never joined. I think you should join! It is so wonderful singing in a church choir; all I can say is it always gave me warm fuzzys. Enjoy it, and let me know if you joined again.

The expression "she can't carry a tune in a bucket" definitely applies to me. I don't sing in a choir. I am sure that no choir would want me. My singing is absolutely horrible.

I used to sing in a choir years ago also when I was in school. I sang in elementary school, junior high school, and high school. I also used to sing in our church choir. I know what you mean when you talk about the pastor and the money thing. That is why I do not attend my church any longer because the people do not treat each other kindly and the church was all about money. I also live 50 miles from my church too. Church just isn't what it is supposed to be anymore.

I know. I don't even feel comfortable going to church any more because alot of people inside the church are not there for God, but for their own publicity in the church. Alot of them won't even look at you or speak to you outsdie of church and they won't talk to you in church either.

We don't have a choir at our church, but we do have interpretive dance team, and I am a part of that. I have been doing it for about 1 1/2 years and I really enjoy it. Puts me in closer touch with God and brings about the Holy Spirit.

I am a professional choir singer and I do sin for the pops, I do not sing at church, I find it to be distracting not to be sitting in fornt of the preacher.

It is best if I just stick to singing when the whole congregation sings. That way my singing does not sound to bad. I do not sing in a choir but I enjoy listening to our school choir sing. They are the ones that usually sing at our church.

My singing school has a choir and I'm singing in a concert on the 1st of July. We have to sing one of the songs from the Andre Loyd Webber musical "Joseph And The Techni Colour Dream Coat" and next year we are doing the whole musical.

We don't have a choir at our church (yet). The church where my husband just took the pastor's job is very small. There are several that I think would love to start a choir program again, but it just hasn't happened yet.

I am in the choir and praise team at my church, and I absolutely love it! Just this Sunday, I sang a duet with the organist's daughter for offertory, called "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross." It was the second duet we've done. The choirmaster asked us during our last rehearsal if we would be willing to do contemporary duets. She said she has lots of them, but almost no classical ones. Katie said that's actually her preference. My background is mostly classical, but I am comfortable with just about anything. I am a countertenor, but I occasionally fill in for bass, and have even done mezzo soprano once or twice. :P I have 3-1/2 octaves range. I understand the choirmaster actually had 4, but she lost her upper range after her battle with cancer. So, what part do you sing?

Pretty much. An average choir is SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass). There are lots of different ranges, really. A large choir might have soprano, mezzo soprano, alto, and contralto amongst women, then 1st tenor (countertenor), 2nd tenor, baritone, and bass amongst the men.

I love being in the choir. I have been singing in the choir since I was 12 (I am in my late 20s now). I love to sing in a group and praise God together. I led a youth and children's choir/group for some months. It really gave me a lot of joy and satisfaction. I felt that I was able to use the talent that God gave me to praise and glorify Him and also bless others through singing and leading the choir. It is really good to have a choir in the Church because you have the best singers, the average and the weak singers all in a group and they all sing and praise God together with their very best. The main intention is not to gain glory for oneself but to glorify God. Compared to a band where only a few good singers and musicians could participate, the choir in a Church is an avenue where many people could praise God, develop our talents and also make friends. We realise that we are important in the Church and that we are a part of the community of believers. We feel useful (used of God) and we sense that we are making a valuable contribution to build up the body of Christ, the Church. I love being in the choir and I love leading the choir. Thank you for the question. God bless you!

I like singing in the choir too. IO have been singing in our Vhurch's choir since 1992. I found it a place to learn, make friend, use one talent, serve Christ, and be a blessing to others. You need to go back to it although your church is pastorless now. do not put your confidence in your pastor but in the one who called you pastor to His ministry -GOD. What did the former pastor do for you?

I sing in a Choir. It will be starting up again in Fall, but I do not think I will be doing much because we will be going away for September and October. I will have to do some practice and I want to sing solo, but have not much time to practice and I need to get some song books.

oh yes I do! and I love it! I don't have a very good voice but people from our church said I'm improving so I'm all the more happy baout being in the worship team. My husband is the worship leader but I still went into regular audition and practiced a few months before I was really accepted. It's good to sing for the Lord! Hope you get to sing for Him again soon!
