Sounds like you would love to hear some of the great music that we all love, so here is Tropical Glen: http://www.tropicalglen.com A great free jukebox with top 100 hits from the 50's up thru the 80's all good stuff, and no junk! This music might even get you to dance with your grandkids and show "em how to "Shake your Groove Thang" Yeah, yeah!!! :)

MyLot is absolutely tough when it comes to the spelling thing, LOL! :) I've found myself being much more careful and typing a lot slower that usual, and still I manage to make the most dunderheaded spelling errors, syntax errors, and just plain writing goofs, that would have my English professors "Break dancing in their graves" if they could... I'm so glad that I'm not a purist or a perfectionist when it comes to spelling and stuff, or I'd be dragged off to the nearest "Happy House" at the sight of my own mistakes! LOL! :)

LOL... don't worry we don't judge on spelling here. And I remember drive in movies too- that was an american classic- I don't think we have any left in NJ- its a shame they were fun.

I not only "Boogie Oogied", I also "Freaked Out", did "The Hustle" and just about every other disco dance... I even won a couple of dance contests (Whew, if that doesn't date me, I don't know what will)... I simply knew that a guy who could dance would always get the girls! :) We definitely had much more fun and less stress back then... http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/771352.aspx

Being a bartender during those days was like being a DJ, you had to fight off the ladies, LOL! I did both jobs and also had a band, too, very, very cool positions for the times... I kind of miss those gigs! :(

You are absolutely right - girls love a guy who can dance- i remember my brother was a bartender at a club called close encounters- the dance floor looked like the one from Saturday Night Fever ( of course i never got to see it till years later when I was old enough to drink- in the 80's) but he used to practice dancing in our living room all the time- and he had quite a flock of women.... I remember La Freak Se Chic-- from High school dances....oh those were the simple days.

My music other than modern Techno is from the 80's. I have tool bar from a networking site that has the radio on it and I now compute to oldies from the 80's. Works for me. I forget that I am injured when I sit at the computer and so some boogie ing while typing. lol Hubby has been know to sing along also while cooking on his night to do so.

My husband and I are 80's children too- we were 18 and 19 in 1982- so our partying years were all full of 80's music- new age- punk- heavy metal... those memories are always great!!!!!

I also loved the eighties and the music that came from that era really was excellent...all kind of stuff from New Wave to Hair Bands, Chick Bands all still very good! The 90's had some good stuff but you had to go much more "underground" to get to it... I don't know what happened to dance music after 2003 and 2004 but that American Idol stuff is way too creepy for me, sort of like "Stepford" music.

I really don't care for that show myself-- especially the ones who are so bad but yet people buy an album from these people (like that oriental guy that was horrible and made lots of money from it). Go Figure!

LOL - I was more of a heavy rock chick than a Boogie Ooogie one, so I was more likely to have been head-banging to Status Quo or Led Zep. I do often look back at those good old, bad old days wth affection though - those wonderful flares, and platforms, and tank tops:-)) Or maybe I'm just getting old!!

There was room in my Life for kinds of music from Heavy Metal to Top 40 or whatever I could dance to... There was also great looking stlye of clothes for us guys, like: Platform shoes, Flare and Bolero pants, tanktop and belly shirts... (I'm straight, by the way) so sometimes guys and girls could dress exactly alike... this memory makes me smile even more! :)

I also love heavy metal- but then again I like all kinds of music- depending on what crowd you were haging with determined what music you would listen to. High school parties or dances always had disco- but my true friends (who were all older then me) always listened to heavy metal/classic rock. I still wear bell bottoms since they cmae back in style...I loved the platforms but I don't think I could wera then nowadays...lol

I didn't really boggie back then, LOL, but I remeber the seventies quite well. I was born in 1971. Those were the good old days and I really miss those days. I wish we could go back in time and live some of those ways now. I have alot of good memeories from back then.

Oh great shambuca, now that song is stuck in my head. I remember that song well. I love listening to the songs of the seventies. My cable provider gives us music channels and its just music no videos. They have many different categories. One of them is 70's music. I tend to listen to that one a lot.

I was born in 72-- so most of the seventies music I have listened to is from when I was older and my mom listened to it- I listened more in the 80's and 90's growing up- Now when I hear songs from the 80's-- tons of memories come back- It's odd how music will bring back the good and bad times- I do know the song you are referring to- but it doesn't bring back memories for me.

I sure do remember those days. I graduated high school in 1979, so I remember the music from the 1970's and 1980's really well. That is still my favorite music, today.
