Do Your In-Laws Criticize Your Parenting?

My mother-in-law once refused to listen to me about baby powder and when I left the room, put in in the baby's hand. The baby promptly put his hand to his eye and we spent all night in emergency, with the naked baby strapped to a cold metal table, while they used bags of saline to flush his eyes and sinuses. Then I had to listen to the nurses rag on me about using baby powder.

OH MY GOD!!! My mother in law tries constantly not giving advice, but just telling me what to do and ignoring our wishes as parents. Think she gets the idea now that she is not allowed to babysit anymore. No cool drinks or sweets meant nothing to her. And she thought my kids ahould all be toliet trained and in a bed by 1

I often wonder what makes these people tick? Are they controlling and opinionated with everyone, or just faaaaamily?

I found in many cases even my mother-in-law never agree with me and she always keeping shunting on me on my parenting but she till now never advised me of her type of parenting as she done with her kids and whenever i ask for help she keeps yelling on me that i dont know even this simple thing but she never gfive any ideas nor she does any activity when she feel that iam not perfect,i never understood her in this view of point and i always kep quite for her behaviour.

I think that would be the last time my mil was allowed to be alone with the baby. My mil tries to criticize my parenting, but it doesn't get far with me, considering she didn't raise my bil at all, and only had my husband about half the time. And he'd tell you that I've raised him.
