Medical reasons my a$$. She probably had a hangover. It seems our judicial system what how they deal with celebrities and illegal immigrants wants to make us the laughing stock of the world!! What do you think of this latest farce? Paris Hilton out of jail for medical reasons LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hotel heiress Paris Hilton was let out of jail and put under house arrest on Thursday after serving three days of a three-week sentence, sparking a debate over whether fame worked for her or against her. Officials said Hilton, 26, a symbol for many of the privilege and excesses of American celebrity culture, was released from jail for undisclosed medical reasons but was fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet to track her movements and ordered confined to her house for the next 40 days. During a news conference, Steve Whitmore of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's office declined to reveal the medical issue that led to her "reassignment" or say why she could not be treated in jail. The syndicated TV show "Entertainment Tonight," citing sources close to Hilton's family, reported on its Web site that Hilton had developed a rash on her body, while celebrity Web site TMZ.com reported Hilton's medical condition was psychological. TMZ cited unidentified law enforcement sources as saying a psychiatrist who visited her in jail found she was in danger of a nervous breakdown. Los Angeles County detention facilities, like many jails around the country, are known to have problems controlling outbreaks of staphylococcus infections, which can cause rashes. But Whitmore said staph was not an issue in Hilton's case. http://www.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUSN0718148720070607?src=060707_1031_FEATURES_entertainment

We saw a lot of this on our news last night. Even tjhough he is confined o her home, she can have parties, visitors, anything she likes! I bet the medical issues are psychological. The silly women would have worked herself up into such a state. Of course, any other prisoner who had psychological issues, would NOT have been released from jail, to spenmd the sentence in their own home. What a farce!

Well she had a big fancy bash before (supposedly) going to do jail time now she probably have a huge welcome home, or I got out of jail free, party with all her airhead friends and suck ups.

On Larry King tonight a lawyer had predicted 2 weeks ago that she would only be there two or three days and said it was standard for anyone no matter who they were. I would like proof of that statement. Wouldn't you? Good grief!

I had read this, and seen a discussion or two about it today. Even replied to at least one. I had wondered about depression as a "medical condition" but of course with the HIPPAA laws, we will never know. Now in my psychology classes we were told that nerves do not break and that nervous breakdown is a totally unprofessional term. I guess I have said enough about this today, those that have, continue to get.

This decision is just a slap in the face of the average American. If you or I would have comitted this crime, we could have never whined our way out of serving a lousy 45 days. I have no repect for Paris Hilton. Even Martha Steward stepped up to the plate and did her time and came out better for it. Paris will never fix her public image. Not to say it was that good in the first place. Your friend. Lloyd

Excellent comparison LLoyd. Martha Stewart was not commiting a crime that could cause an accident and kill or injury someone. She did her time, is back on TV etc. just as popular as before. I know I respected her for not buying her way out of jail time.

Our judicial system is getting sicker and sicker. I heard that once she was in jail, the sheriff had jurisdiction over her. I'm glad the judge is going to review this and, hopefully, back she goes. She probably couldn't stand the prison garb and the sheets on her "so-perfect" body. California is one of the few states where you can literally get away with murder, i.e., O.J. Simpson, or almost any other crime. Send her back to jail!

All I can say is she must have a dam good lawyer. And the fact that only a few hours before she got released her shrink came to visit her. And I heard that he gave her a new med that the jail could not give her and thats why they let her out. Money makes the world go round.

I think that it wasn't medical problems but the fact that she wouldn't eat the food that was givin to her. I also think that she was in fear for her life for some unknown reasons. There could be a lot of other reasons as well but i aways thought that if you where put into jail that you stayed there until your sentince was complete. She most definitly got special treatment for some reason or a nother. This is not fair to the rest of the population that have to really stay when they are put into jail. Now she can have whom ever over and do what ever just as long as she stays at her home. This is not right. What the heck was the judge thinking when he let her out??

She had a really scorching case of Why(ne), Why(ne), Why(ne). The pathetic thing is, the worthless wastes of taxpayer money in the LA Country Sheriff's office gave in to the little stinking bit of rancid tallow.

Doesn't that totally suck? Like if me or one of my friends got caught with a DUI we'd never get off like that. What is her punishment? Maybe the maids won't serve her breakfast in bed or something. I hope.

She is probably having s*x with Justin Timberlake while under house arrest. LOL, why do I sound so wicked when talking about her? I honestly don't know what will happen to Hilton when she finally inherits. If she doesn't make a baby that grows up to be someone capable in time, that's it for Hilton. I wouldn't want to be holding any of Hilton's shares. :P My gut feel is that she is lying but they can't prove she is lying. But only God knows. It may be that she is really ill. What are we? A couple of fishmongers and wives gossiping behind others' backs? :P

So we have another case of the privileged winning out over the law. Well it sets a good example for everyone.....why should anyone obey the laws when they can get off. Medical reasons....I guess so....she is to dumb to be alive. why do we have laws in the first place.

Isn't this absolutely revolting? No one, I don't give a crap how rich, should be able to get out of serving time for a crime that could very well have killed someone. I wonder what the heck is going to happen to her after all of this. If I had a child that followed her I wouldn't allow it any more after all this crap... and Lindsey Lohann is just as bad! What a disgrace to other people in their 20's that have huge responsibilites, it's just awful.

My opinion on all of these celebrity fiascos is that they should be treated the same as anyone else off the street. They should receive equal treatment. They should not be treated more lenient because of who they are, nor should they be treated harsher. Equality is the key here. cheers,
