You have your bf/gf's email password. Would you snoop his inbox??

Snooping Around - Invasion of privacy is a major NO-NO in any relationship
Malaysia
June 11, 2007 8:20am CST
I know some of us have been guilty of snooping around where our noses don't belong. And some of us, have been able to be good girls and boys.=) Well, I used to be a really bad girlfriend. I snooped whenever I had the chance because I was really really insecure after being cheated so many times. Well, I'm glad to say that I don't do that anymore. I realize it's invasion of privacy and I wouldn't be happy if that happened to me. I don't give out my password to my boyfriend and neither does he. What about you? Have you ever been guilty of snooping around? Be honest now.. =P

i like the idea of some snooping girlfrined or boyfriend around. it sounds cute and nice. for as long as nagging will not ensue out of the snooping, it is fine. i don't see any reason why we shall give our full trust to anyone when we will notice that there is something amiss somewhere.

Hey tigerose.. I guess he never did mention it because he wasn't sure whether you did check his mail or not. So maybe he didn't wanna sound accusing if he did confront you about it. So in the end, he just changed his password. Just goes to show he doesn't want you snooping.. LOL~! =P That's the part we always try to avoid.. the nagging~! Snooping wouldn't look cute anymore if couples ended up fighting.. =P

i have my boyfriend email and password given by him,and he has mine too.so its considered legitimate snooping.lol i dont think men will keep their "secret relation"proof in computer, too risky, handphone has more safety privacy.however, im not really care about did he cheating me,coz he is not the only boyfriend i have.lol

I have and I still do...It is completely an insecurity thing. I don't want to do it, but I do because I am so damn nosey. I have never found anything and doubt I ever will, but it doesn't stop me. If I feel too bad about snooping I will tell him and he just laughs at me...says I am way too insecure...

LOL~! That's funny.. You really need to slow down.. I used to be very insecure too because I was cheated on one too many times. Maybe if you really MUST snoop to satisfy your insecurity, maybe you shouldn't do it too often. Only when there's really really REALLY a valid reason to snoop.. But then again, insecurity doesn't need a reason.. =P I've been there and I know how you feel.. Thanks for your honesty.. ;D

This will depend on why your boyfriend gives you the password. Or did you insist he give it to you? I don't think I would ever feel comfortable giving out my password to anyone. Not my girlfriend, not my wife. There is a part of me that I would want to keep private and personal. :P

No I have never snooped, but I should have. Nothing like being in the dark, and being the last one to know. Next time if something doesn't feel right.. If I can I will snoop. This way I will save myself a lot of heartache. Nothing like being made a fool of and having your heart broken in two...

I hear ya irishmist~! I've been there too.. Just make sure you don't get caught. It's ok if you get caught and you find something to be mad about! But it's not ok to get caught and there's nothing suspicious at all.. hehe.. well, that's how I feel anyway.. =P

Yes especially im the one who set it up for him im not ashamed , k you dont invade but tell me this do check his phone, pocket "accidently " to me it's the same thing. Humans have to realise where humans and we have emotions and just give up the denial...Because men pretend not to snoops but they do snoop.

I feel it's really important to be honest in a relationship but as most of people around here will agree,You cant tell absolutely everything to ur partner cos what he/she doesnt know wont hurt em....And for exactly that teeny weeny bit of information I used to snoop around in my gf's email inbox...LOL

LOL~! I totally understand.. Most couples are insecure, and that's how I used to be too.. Now I just try to refrain myself from doing that because I just wouldn't want that insecurity to engulf me.. But I can understand where you're coming from.. :)

I will definitely snoop in to.There is no doubt about it.There is a common mentality for all of us humans to just know something which is not shown to us or hidden from us...Its the nature of human beings. They cant be blamed for the same.

Haha.. so you'll wait for another 'reason' to snoop again? LOL.. I've realized that snooping just makes me feel so insecure and crazy! I hate that feeling.. So I stopped.. I think if there is something going on, I'd rather not know.. I'll just rely on trust these days.. :)

I have not snooped on anyone's email, but when my BF had suspicion of me seeing someone else, he went into my email account because he knew my password. Honestly, our relationship was going crappy, so I dont blame him for what he did. This took place last August, and since then we have broke up, and got back together again. Nothing needs to be sneaky like this, I feel its best to be open and honest in order to work thru tough times.

Yup, it really is due to insecurity and lack of trust. I've been in that situation where confrontation never does seem to work. Well, I'm glad I'm not the person I once was. And I'm happy to hear you guys are back together~! Cheers~! ;D

for us, it's ok to 'snoop' around. to make sure that there is no reason for us to mistrust each other. at times, i even request my gf to check stuff from my inbox and download/print it. i think 'snooping' around is ok as long as you have each other's permission, which in that case, is not snooping anymore.

I do have my boyfriends passwords but i know that he doesn't really use his internet accounts anymore so there would be no point in snooping. I think i checked his ET inbox a couple of years ago but i felt guilty and didn't do it again, he was sitting with me at the computer while i was looking anyway lol. I do have a look at his Myspace comments every once in a while, just to check that nobody is flirting really badly with him. I trust him but i just don't trust other people.

Are you sure your boyfriend will honestly give you the password to the inbox for you to snoop? I bet he has one secretly hidden behind his sleeves. No, I would not snoop about with a given password. To be very honest, I would be more interested in the hidden one. What a trusting relationship. lol.

Hmmm.. I don't have the password to my boyfriend's e-mails. He never gave one to me. And I never gave him mine. I don't think knowing each others passwords is necessary. But last time when I did know the password, of course I wasn't stupid to check his e-mails. What I did was check his friendster account and every other account he had with the same password! And lo and behold, he didn't keep what he hid in his e-mails. =P
