How did you tell your family, or significant other that you were pregnant? With Cooper I had bought a card and was going to give it to hubby, but I just spilled the beans because I was so excited. This last time (LAST TIME!!! WOO!!) we tested together and he watched the stick change with me. I was really scared because it was not a planned event, but he was great. :) How did you spill the beans?

I was really scared, as our youngest wasn't expected, my husband-to-be was about to have his vasectomy done, guess God had other plans for us! I didn't tell him, I bought the test, snuck into the bathroom, then when I came out, I simply sat down beside him, and handed it to him sheepishly, not knowing how he was going to react. We were both happy but really scared, since we weren't married, we both had older children, so we had to tell them and our mother's. That wasn't easy to do either, we told our kids and then wrote letters to our mom's (which was really funny because we were both over 30, we just didn't want to listen to them yell at us). That was over 9 years ago, and we have quite a happy little blended family of 6.

Is not being married important where you are? I was just curious is all since you said you weren't married. I guess i associated the not married thing with religion, but then i though divorce was a sin too? Am i right or do things just differ in certain families? Sorry just a bit curious :)

Gemmygirl..you dont have to be married these days to have a child with someone and have a happy life together. Its not required..you can have kids out of "wedlock" and still be perfectly fine. Im a perfect example of it and I know some ladies on here are too.

My 2 year old was born 3 1/2 months before me and hubby got married, however we were together over a year before that and living together so it already felt like we were married. Getting the piece of paper was just a technicality.

My husband brought the pregnancy test home with him when he came home for lunch one day. I had been in a terrible mood and really tired. But I had also just moved 1100 miles within the last month, and was missing my mommy. lol I was still asleep when he came home, and he threw something on the bed. I started to yell at him, and he told me to get up and take it so I did. It was positive. He was standing right there the entire time. He was sooo excited. He danced around the room with our little dog, and gave her several kisses. lol He went back to work and told anyone that would listen. Then he called back like 20 minutes after he got to work and said we had to go to the base hospital to get it confirmed. He was so funny. I had never seen him so excited about anything.

My partner thought my moodiness had gone up a few notches so i ran down & grabbed a pregnancy test - it came up positive, twice (it was a 2 pack) & then he didn't mind the moodiness so much! Telling my family was easy - my Mum was going 50 a week or so after we found out so we went to the ultrasound & got a print out of the baby, then when we went to her party we put the photo in her card & she freaked out - i have never seen anyone so excited in my life. Then we all went to the party & she was greeting everyone with 'I'm gonna be a Nanna', rather than 'Hello'!!!

Well it was kinda funny because Ricky knew before I did. I tested using the stick and I read the directions wrong and I thought the blue meant I wasn't pregnant so I was like "ok" and I threw it in the trash in the bathroom. Ricky was like "let me double check, since you didn't read the directions" (I was too excited to see if I was or wasn't) and then he pulled it out and read it and saw that I was pregnant. I took the second one in the box the next day to make sure and sure enough, I was two months pregnant lol (we went to the doctor later that week to see how long I was)

Never ever spill the beans at the dinner table. I don't know why but that's what they say. Maybe it's something about digesting food and big news like that all at once. It would be easier if they were younger kids around the house at the time and you were playing with them and say something like "I can't wait till I have one of these of my own!" If they have agree with you break the news, if they make a smart remark (which my family does often) and it offends you, break the news anyway!

my son's dad and i thought we were pregnant, so we just bought a test and found out together. the "positive" line was really faint, and i was like "is that positive, or is it just because it's wet?" he just laughed at me and said "you've got morning sickness and haven't had your period in 2 months... i'm pretty sure it's positive" we told his parents over the phone, and i told my little sister but made her keep it a secret. telling my mom was fun. i was due in may, my older sister was due in march. so when i went out to visit for my younger sister's birthday i said to her... "so, you ready to be a grandma again..... in may?" she was like "no, it's march" and i said "yeah... and may" my older sister i gave a card to that had a picture of a baby on it and said "congratulations" on the front. i wrote "aunt mimi" inside the card.

hi! on our first baby, we bought together a pregnancy kit coz we suspected that im pregnant. so i used it and it turned out to be positive. i showed it to him at once and he was so happy that he embraced me and said that he loves me very much. while on our second baby, i made the test alone coz i had a feeling that im pregnant on our 2nd baby. i bought a greeting card for him and attached the test kit result. i left the card beside the bed and left for work. after a few hours, he sent a text message to me just to say how happy he was.
