I bpught these from Brecks in the mail and planted them in the early spring. I am stunned that they have started to flower so well. This photo attatched is of the Peach Blossom variety. It's about one foot tall and still flowering so it's not fully opened actually. They grow anywhere from 20 to 40 inches tall so they will be a beautiful sight once they are matured. That will happen next year not this I feel. Anyhow I just wanted to share this beautif flower here. Thanks and happy gardening to all.

Great.
I've got a company from America sending me spam and now you're sending me dirt! I don't mind the spam as much, I can give it to needy and poor. (rather like robin hood) but the dirt, what can I do with that except put into my parents garden where a cat dug the darn ground? (joking)
Sure zip it and sending at joey@earthdirt.com

Oh how pretty- One of my favorite things to do is work in my flower
gardens- OK- I don’t like the weeding part- but who can blame me- Achy
back and legs the next day! I love planting new flowers- this past
weekend we planted all of the flower boxes and pots- We plant these
with annuals- We have 3 flower beds and numerous other flowers that
pop up all over our yard (5 acres). These are all perennials. Some
of my favorite are the wild flowers- Wild phlox- and sweat peas. My
bleeding hearts were just gorgeous this year- last year not as pretty-
Only 1 hyacinth came up this year- these are my favorite annual
flower. Thanks for sharing part of your flowers with me-

Look at the photo again you'll see weeds GALORE. I hate that chore most of all. Let's see some pics of yours? I'm waiting patiently for my Phlox out front to bloom.

What a great garden tour you provide for us! I am sure that your garden plays a large role in keeping your sanity as you deal with other things life brings your way. It is fun to see dry old bulbs and things turn into earthbound beauty. I appreciate you sharing with us.

Thank you very much also. I run outside a lot of times during the day doing a little weeding here, watering there etc. So it doesn't take much time all at once this way. It is a stress reliever at times. I love the end results. Wait till my next discussion soon. It's my Apples. Man are they getting big and this early too. A lot are half red. Anyhow thanks again.

Oh,hubby and I love astilibes. We have one that has a deep maroon stalk and flowers. It is absolutely gorgeous. I love the way that they quietly do thier thing, going and coming each year with very little work from us! Do you know if they can be successfully separated? If so, when and how? We would love to add one to a new garden we have made...but of course can't find one at our one local nursery!

The one you have is of the Red Fanal variety. I have that but it's yet to bloom for some reason. Thanks for sharing and responding also.

oNCE THEY ARE DONE FLOWERING FOR THE SEASON DIG THEM UP AND SEPEARTE THEM THEN TRANSPLANT. tHEY ARE INVASIVE SO DEPENDING WHERE YOU HAVE THEM PLANTED CAN BE A PROBLEM IF YOU DON'T DIG THEM UP EVER SO OFTEN TO CONTROL THE OFF SHOOTS.

Congratulations!!! Very pretty!! I have some pinkish/white ones which have escaped into our field. While I haven't gotten around to recapturing them just yet, I love it that they have reseeded themselves elsewhere.

I actually run in and oput of the house doing a little bit of garden work then back to mylot. These photos were taken 5 minutes before I started this discussion. Hahaha!! If you look at the ground thats all weeds. So no green thumb here. I figure that if they grow this well in this thick bed of weeds I'll leave the weeds be.

They are beautiful - I've never grown astilibes myself but have known others who did and they really are spectacular when they mature.

I don't know how I missed this earlier, Grandpa Bob, and 'I do' believe that you have a green thumb. To me, this has always just meant, that the planter and grower, cause everything they put their hand to, to flourish, and produce beautiful flowers, trees, fruit etc.:)

I've never heard of a 'brown thumb,' but it could be the beginning of a trend.:)
