MyLot is Amazing

I am actually shocked and very pleased. I had a discussion deleted and I sent many PMs to myLot asking why, although I knew a sweet flower had it deleted because of her interpretation of copyright laws. I educated myself thoroughly on these laws and explained to myLot that I had used the "Fair Use exemption" law and as this is in accordance with the myLot guidelines where if your post part of anything copied from the Interenet (news, health, facts and figures etc.) using these articles to ask an opinion, debate, question, etc., this is OK as long as you post the LINK showing that these are not your words but from another source.
I am so happy that myLot read my PM and reinstated my discussion. However the responses did not get reinstated so I am sorry if any of you lost a point because of this.

That you that is high praise indeed coming from you. I took me about a week of studying all the copyright and fair use exemption laws I could find then I PMd mL every day (the same PM) for another week. Actually all I was doing was going into detail about one of their "DO" discussion guidelines. Actually it was deleted due to one person's own interpretation of the law.

Well, you are good. From what I recall, I wrote them 3 times, with few days in between, using the same pm regarding their deletion of my "Do you flaunt your faith in public?" discussion.
RADIO SILENCE. :P

So glad to have been of help. Some of the guidesline are rather ambiguous and so users distort them to have discussions deleted. I am sure that with amount of traffic on this site myLot admin could not really investigate every report of abuse.

Yes, I did notice a discussion of yours had been deleted, and as I had loaded it to respond, I was a bit stunned. The topic was fine, & you always have the link if it is an info type discussion.
I didn't loose a point, as it was deleted before I got to it.
What a sweet flower this person must be? To obviously look for faults, no matter how minor or non-existant they may be.

I think it is really a shame that some people are allowed to appoint themselves censors of what is or is not correct in a discussion. I think these people spoil it for so many who are bewildered as to why their discussions got deleted.

Congrats. Maybe I should become a squeaky wheel about the discussion they deleted from me about reporting rude people. Well within guidelines but still deleted.

As far as I understand the person who had my discussion deleted made it her personal rule to report every discussion that did not fall within HER interpretation of the laws and guidelines.
So was I was not the first but one of many she had reported for abuse.

Actually I think she is the second one I know who was able to have a deleted discussion reinstated. Still kudos to her!!

Exactly. It has certainly brought them back up in my estimation as I was getting so very disillusioned.

WOW you go girl! It's rare to hear a post being reinstated. I just went there and posted again, I can't remember what it was the first time, but I know I posted to it.

You are such a winner. That was a great post and done correctly as well.I recently advised someone on my friends list that constantly posting stories from the net without saying where they came from or posting a link or naming the author was inadviasable. He/she continued so I reported that person. Every single post is not her work with no references whatsoever. Nothing has been done. I just don't understand.

There is a person on my friends list who does just the opposite. She looks ar yahoo news items every day and then just posts the links with either a "what do you think" or something similar. There are at least 4 ot 5 of them posted a day and I think that is also abuse as there is no particular part of the item that she questions or wants to debate.

very cool! Way to follow through and get your point heard, good job! It's great to hear something like this, because I see a lot of posts saying people haven't gotten a response from myLot about this issue or that. Thanks for sharing this news, and the link for your other discussion.

Thank you. It did take a total of about two and a half weeks but it does show that perseverance and being able to back up your reasons for rebutting the deletion was looked into.

I'm glad you got a response from mylot about your discussion. Hopefully they respond to these questions all the time. There is nothing worse than getting slapped on the hand and not knowing why.

Wow, I'm sorry that your discussion got deleted because of a certian person but I'm happy that mylot found the error in their haste and reposted your discussion. Some people thrive off of causing issues for others and I hope that you don't allow this person to get to you. I will have to go check out the other discussion and see what it was all about. Again I'm glad mylot reinstated it.

Well, it's possible that mylots pulled the discussion after a lot of people objected to the subject matter. Personally, that is the type of discussion I avoid. But glad for you that you stood up for yourself, explained your rights, and the situation was resolved.
