Is Lysol using scare tactics to get moms to buy their products?

Have you seen that new Lysol spray commercial which shows huge germs on everything. Come on, germs are a fact of life. And, most of us clean our houses sufficiently to get rid of these types of dangers. Yet, they would have us believe that every surface in our homes are covered with deadly bacteria. And, our children are in imminent peril. Most people have some type of immunity to common household germs. And, anyway, doesn't bleach do a better job at getting rid of germs? So why is Lysol trying to scare moms into using their products? I wish they'd go back to truthful advertising and let us make the buying decisions based on good product value and not fear.

I hate those commercials. I'm not big into cleaning my house. Don't get me wrong, it's not dirty, but I don't spend all day going around spraying lysol everywhere, and my son is still healthy. We use the clorox wipes on his high chair tray if the dogs have been licking it, but for the most part that is it. Well, and we clean his toys, too. But as far as the phone and remote control and things like that? Nope. Maybe use a baby wipe if someone has been holding it with something on their hands, or if someone is sick, but that's it. My son has never been sick. And I honestly believe part of it is because he IS exposed to germs. We do use a cart seat cover when we got shopping, and we wipe down changing tables if they don't have the covers, but at home he gets plenty of germs from us and the dogs.

I usually use the Clorox wipes. That way I dont have to use the spray.Everyone even have some bacteria or germs on thier body.Thier is no way even taking showers and baths that you can get rid of all of them.I think they are trying to get more people to buy their prouct.A crazy way to do it though.heck kids even play outside and their is germs out thier. So their is no way you can wipe all your grass, patio, ect. with lysol or by spaying lysol.LOL.It woul take to long.

Clorox is doing the same thing-even branding our children by sending home "educational" brochures about disease prevention. Our immune systems are strengthened by exposure to normal household germs, and even some mild illnesses. I teach my kids to wash with soap after using the bathroom, b/c fecal bacteria can cause serious illness, and after handling raw meat, for the same reason. We also wash produce before eating b/c of potential contamination. Otherwise, we don't worry too much about germs. My kids get colds regularly and an occasionaly gastroenteritis, and are otherwise very healthy.
