The underwear story...

I have a dilema...this is a story like no other. Tell me how would you feel if ...??your daughter leaves with her father to spend a few days with him, his girlfriend and his siblings. Part of the plan was also to have her hair braided while she was there. Well, after 3 days of being in his care..I am asked to pick her up because her hair is done. When I arrive, her hair isn't done. I ask why did you have me come? He says well, she has dirty laundry and I have no way to wash. ...I said ok. When I get home and other members in my house are talking about the matter. They were curious about the same thing. If your hair isn't done, why did you come back? My kid tells me ...that she had no clean underwear and that her father gave her his girlfriends underwear to put on. I stood there in shock. I mean that shouldn't of been an option. Let's think about that.....my 10 year old daughter wearing a grown womans lacy underwear. When I asked him about it, which was 3 minutes after she told me..he said they are practically new. I went off I mean come on. I told my daughter that should of never happened. Anyways, can you believe that? Shouldn't a father know that is morally improper? What if my daughter had caught something from that woman. who knows. What would you have done?

How is that possible that you are not going to catch anything from wearing someone's underwear? I thought you can, that's why stores do not let you try on underwears or let you return any. I wonder how could she have lack of underwear? Did she forget them or something? Its only a few days away after all.

Thanks for your reply.... she had 3 days worth but with so many people living in one house she felt like she had no where to wash and hang them. She is shy when it comes to her personal stuff of course. Her father is slime...he should of known better that's all.

It's inappropriate, and I'd be more than a little upset that he couldn't do laundry (seriously-what do he and his gf do for clean clothes?), but she's not going to catch anything from wearing someone else's underwear.

Can I just say wow!? What an idiot. It sounds like the man has no common sense. That's really gross. I would have been angry too. He could have gone to a laundry matt to wash clothes... or if he wanted to be lazy he could have at least called you to bring her more. I would have a talk with him before you send the kids there again and go over some things in addition to the ground rules....maybe like what is proper and what isn't. He should have been taught these things growing up... but some people just don't get it. He doesn't sound like a responsible parent.

Thanks...for your respone and understanding. What gets me is he grew up poor. Not that I am rich. I can be broke but best believe I won't look it. He knows how to hand wash. I reminded him of that ....he is just a slob and I wish he wasn't my kids father.LOL.

I'm curious as to why there was no way to get this child some clean underwear. However, try not to overreact either. The odds of catching a disease from a pair of panties is virtually impossible. Yes, it was inappropriate for her dad to give her his girlfriend's underwear...but it is not as big of a catastrophe as all that. It would have been better for him to have run out to the store and to have picked up a little cheap pack of children's underwear. If nothing else, he should realize that it wouldn't have killed her to wear the same pair of panties for two days until she could have gotten home to have her clothes washed.
