First off for those folks that are admin, You have a big job. For those that are mods, you are secret and consider yourself fair. I have seen some great posts disappear. Take mine for instance someone was deleted from my conversation. Although it was a copy and paste. I did not ask for the deletion. I called him out. It was my discussion is that not right? could I not handle it? It was mine. And who put his name in the tags to begin with. I thought that was under handed and sneaky. What is fair is why deletions accrue tell us.

Yes sir, their server..... my discussion it was humorous. I did not ask for his removal. It added somewhat to the discussion. I called him out and I think if anyone could have him removed I should.

I wish I knew which disucssion you are talking about and what was removed. In any case, censorship is a bad thing unless someone is obviously breaking some serious rules or being abusive. In a case where the topic starter had things under control, you are in effect censoring the conversation. I would like to think that this isn't soviet russia of 50 years ago. That people and post won't just disapear. I would hate to have to disapear with them, on principle. There are other forums... Minnie Mouse is HOT! filmbuff

Filmbuff the discussion I am talking about is my discussion on the movie the Fountain. I did not report the person, nor did I rate him, I did call him out on it and he even replied back. Someone must have come along and did the reporting. What upsets me is if you take a look at the tags in that discussion his user name is still there along with his "crime". I know that cheaters need to be stopped, but I do not think its fair now to leave his/her name for the whole of mylot to see and read when the post itself has been removed. Its sort of an on going punishment, never to be paroled.

You have been touched now by the very thing that keeps us in an uproar around here. The non communication about the deletion, we discover and are left to ponder. I refuse to feel badly for mine that was removed. I rile against the secrecy. Nothing good has come from secrets in my views. I think you did well to try and handle it. Just a shame that when we act like adults we are still not treated like adults. Good luck in the future with your discussions.

It isn't right. I think the mods should be gotten rid of. My discussion on reporting rudeness was deleted and it was completely within guidelines. If someone is friends with mods (and yes there are those who know who the mods are) they can get things deleted. I am pretty sure that is what happened to my discussion. I don't agree with all the deletions. What ticks me off more is that they don't tell you why. They should at least so you can try not to do it again.

I dont know what are the moderators and administrators are doing. What the admins might want to try doing is reading the discussion and attempting to make a decission through the power of judgement. But does they have it in them to do that , hopefully they wont be kind enough to unburden me by deleting this post from my topic lists :)

I missed it completely. I have gotten myself into a predicament where I have a few people onmy friends list who are sending out a lot of discussions and I am missing a lot of others because of it. I need to do some spring cleaning. I am sorry you got bit by the Midge Deletecus.

The night I started this discussion, I had been talking to a very good friend here on mylot, who had had a few bad experiences that he did not deserve, and I was really angry that this was happening to a group of people here on mylot, that were following guidelines and just having fun. I went into my own discussions to see what was up with them to check and make sure mine were all there, I have had one discussion completely disappear and that one was when I had my made my 500 posts mark. Okay I can see that one going by the way side. But then I was looking at my Discussion on the movie The Fountain, and what really upset me was the tag , that had the users name that had been deleted out of my conversation. I just think who ever did it was sneaky and underhanded. you know maybe the person had not yet gotten a good grasp on the guidelines and made a mistake, I called him on it and that should have been enough, now it looks like he is to be punished forever for a mistake.

your not the only one that has seen some pretty good posts disappear. I've also seen ratings go down and can't figure out why. i wish someone from mylot would let us know why they do these things.it's very frustrating
