I always wear my wedding ring unless I am putting on tanner or cleaning with a strong chemical. Other than that it stays on 24 hours a day.

I wish my husband wore his wedding ring more often. He can't wear it at work for the risk of losing his finger.

Well, thats reasonable. You want him to keep all his fingers. My husband is a computer geek, so there is no reason why he couldn't wear his ring.

Pretty much wear it all the time. Except for when doing heavy or extremely dirty work, like landscaping. I work for a jeweler and see the damage that can be done when they're never removed. With a band that's not such a big deal, but with diamonds or other prong-set or channel set stones...One thing I'd like to add, because many of my customers don't seem to know this-take your gold jewelry off when using harsh detergents (especially bleach!), and also when swimming in a chlorinated pool. The chemicals can pit and damage the gold beyond repair, and bleach can do a ton of damage to your prongs and eventually cause stones to fall out.

That is interesting to know. I was always more worried about the diamonds in the channel.

I would be devistated if that happened. I guess that might be partly why I don't take it off.

I think if I didn't have small diamonds in mine I would be saying the same thing in 10 years.

I wear mine all of the time, I had surgery almost two weeks ago and they forgot to take it off me, and give it to my husband, so they just taped it to be really good, but later that same night in ICU the nurse had to remove it, I was swelling up like a balloon, they gave me a diuretic and the next morning, the ring was back where it belonged. if I am working with chemicals, I wear latex gloves, so I do not have o worry about that.

I was really worried when I had a c/s. They didn't take off any of my jewelry though. I did not want to give birth to my child without my wedding ring on.

I always wear my wedding rings. I have not found a chemical that has hurt them in anyway.

When I first got married we wore our rings all the time. I did not wear mine to work because I was afraid of them being stolen. I worked in a bad neighborhood. However, I did put them on when I came home from work. Now that we are older we do not wear our rings unless we are going out. Through the years we have caused damage to our hands and because of swelling and other problems the rights do not fit right. I can put my rings on in the morning and by noon they are so tight that we have to use oil to get them off and it leaves a terrible mark. My husband broke his finger and his knuckle is now too big and his ring will not go on any more. I keep saying that I am going to get us new rings but we always seem to put the money towards something else. I don't think that rings are all that important but they are nice to have. I know we are married and he knows we are married and that really is the only important thing.

I have had to take my wedding rings off once and don't plan to ever again. The only reason I had to that one time was because they needed to be resized to a smaller size so I didn't lose them. A couple of years ago while pregnant I had pre-eclampsia and swelled to the size of a watermellon. My midwife told me when it first started I need to remove my rings but I didn't listen, no way was I removing my rings and have people thinking I was an unwed mother again. When I delivered my daughter they had said something about possibly needed to cut them off because they were too tight and the blood wasn't flowing properly to the finger. I refused to let them.

Well usually yes! But I am pregnant now, and they are too small because my fingers are fatty and swolen :( Booo. The worst part is, that right now I'm not sure where it is. I think it fell behind my nightstand. I really need to get my butt in gear and find it. I cried when I realized I couldn't wear it anymore. Ours are titanium, and I didnt want to get it stuck on as it would be near impossible to get off (think made out of airplane material!) so it isnt like they can just easily cut it off either. As far as I know my hubby always has his on. :)

me too. I never take it off. I take off my engagement ring at times, mostly at night and when I'm cleaning and such but I try to keep my wedding ring always on.

I never take mine off unless I am going to clean it with jewelry cleaner. Once done, it is back where it belongs on my finger! I think a wedding ring is a symbol of love for one another. It also says your married, taken, & committed to someone!

I used to wear mine all of the time unless I was sleeping. Recently I haven't been wearing it as much. I'm not sure why. I guess because I'm not working and in the mornings I'm hardly getting dressed. LOL I try to remember to wear them when I'm going out or something. Husband never notices anyway.

I always keep my wedding ring on too. LOL except now I am pregnant and my fingers swell so I took them off. Now I look like an unwed pregnant woman. Nothing against unwed mothers but people seem to look at you funny. Maybe its just in my head. Yes its just in my head.

I wear mine all the time. I wear gloves when I'm doing housework or using any chemicals so I never have to take them off. The only time I remember taking them off is when I was pregnant and my fingers swelled up and it was uncomfortable to have it on.

I used to but since I gained weight it won't fit me anymore! Sob! Only a few more pounds and I can start wearing it again. That's actually my motivation right now. I really don't believe you have to wear it 24 hours a day. How many people wore theirs 24 hours a day and still the marriage didn't work out? I just don't like taking it off for fear of misplacing it. As I have a few of my jewelries.

I always wear mine also, but my husband don't do it. He don't feel confortable with it and I don't think this is important. I don't have to prove anyone but my husband (and the same with him) that I made a commitment.

yes i do! (unless, there's a need to). Wedding ring tags a person as "married", "unavailable", "taken" and the like. So if a married person takes off his or her ring, he/she removes the tag that a wedding ring gives him/her, right? There are married people who take off their wedding rings intentionaly, in order to 'have - a catch'. I just can't imagine how they live a lie by removing their wedding rings

I usually have mine on but mine got to be too small since I got pregnant but then after the baby my fingers are getting smaller so I can only wear it for a short time or else it starts to hurt.
