Hypnotism- Do you believe ?

I had read a number of novels or seen a lot of cinemas saying many exaggerations about hypnotism. One Hypnotist will say to a person looking into his/her eyes " You are fully under my control. You will tell me about your past history....etc." The patient will began to tell a story.... I believe that our mind is very much powerful. But is it possible to do such wonders in real life. What do you say ?

Every subject is different and I do not believe that stage hypnosis should be encouraged because people that otherwise might be able to be helped with with hypnosis are afraid to go to a hypnotist because they think that the hypnotist will make them doing funny things and it does not work that way. A person is still in control of him/herself when they are in a trance. The subject "obeys" the commands because they want to. If a person were in a trance and the hypnotist were to suggest that the subject do something very wrong , the subject would not do it and might just wake up. I proved this one time (I was in the army , in Special Forces, Green Berets) and had a subject in a deep trance, I gave him a broom and told him that it was a rifle with a bayonet and that I was an enemy. He charged towards me (actually running) and at the very last second stopped (within inches of my heart). I have not just put my money but my life where my mouth was and won. I have hypnotized people over the phone many times with good effect so a person does not have to look into your eyes to be hypnotized. There are literally thousands of ways to hypnotize people, but I will not reach you here.

It is true that you cannot make a person do anything that they don't want to do and also you cannot make them do anything that they are not able to do. With the broom stick (it could also have been a real bayonet) the subject was not a killer so he did not have the desire to kill me. As far as becoming a billionaire, if that were possible I would be first in line. I could make a person feel like a billionaire but not actually be one. As far as attracting your soul mate, that would depend on making sure that you understand who you are and what you might need to improve yourself so that you soul mate will be better able to find you and you find him/her.

Hi Oscarbontoni, My question to you is this, how do you know that the person who was charging after you with the broom/banyonet wasn't playing around? If I were to try this on a friend of family member all of them would take it as a joke, they would play around with me for a while but in a matter of minutes they would snap out of it. I think that the the only way a person can be hypnotized would be that they would have to agree to it. I can only be hypnotized if I allow myself to be. Can you hypnotize me so that I can attract my soul mate and make me a billionaire? I'm just curious

I didn't believe in it, until I actually witnessed it at my Senior Grad Night. They hired a hypnotist and, oh my gosh! I don't think there is anyway these people could have behaived the way they did without..some help! lol. One girl actually was close to tears because she could NOT lower her arm. If you ever tried it is hard to hold your arm straight out in front of you, and this guy had a LARGE group of my peers stuck with their arms out. No one ever lowered their arm until he told them to, and the arms weren't even shaking out of exhaustion. And after he did that to people, there was one girl in the audience that was totally CRAZY with what he made her do lol! He had people on stage and in the audience hypnotized, it was amazing! He actually got one guy very mad at his hat...this guy was right behind me. He was yelling and cussing at his hat! He even through it across the whole room (BIG room). Me and my friend were afraid this guy was gonna start punching people around him (us). lol. I believe now, and I'm glad I didn't volunteer for him!

Oh, and when he made people 'sleep' again the girl in the audience dropped like a sack of rocks off her chair. One of her friends sat on the ground and made sure she was okay. You can't do stuff like that without laughing or at least breaking a smile!
