A Tailor - Do you prefer a tailor-made or ready-made clothes?

I prefer ready to wear shirts but as far as the trousers are concerned, I prefer custom stitched ones by my family tailor. I find the fitting and comfort of the custom stitched trousers better than any of the ready-to-wear trousers available in the market. How do you like your shirts/trousers?

I always buy my clothes off the peg and ready to wear. This can be difficult as I can buy one size of clothes in one shop only to find that the same size clothes in another shop, i.e with the same measurements are either smaller or larger. There doesn't seem to be much consistency. I would have thought that a tailored suit would be too expensive which is why I've never even looked into getting one.

I prefer custom made clothes, and used to make my own but my hands are too arthritic to hold a sewing needle now. I still knit all my own knitwear though and enjoy that. I don't buy many clothes because they don't wear out very quickly so I suppose when the time comes to need some more clothes I may be able to afford to get someone else to make up my favourite designs once more.

I'M so tall that its hard to find pants anywhere and since I am not in a area that caters to model types I have to have a tailor make my pant it does not matter much to me anyway

I prefer buying readymade clothes. Readymade clothes are available in more attractive colours, stylish fittings and a variety. Moreover my couple of experiences with having clothes stitched is not very nice either.

all of my suits and shirts are custom made so that i get the absolute best fit possiable. There is a guy I go see at my favoite store that has all of my measure ments and when I go to get a new suit or shirt all i have to do is pick or a fabric style and color.

In my world, there is no way I could afford anything custom stitched. For what it cost to get something altered, I could probably buy something new. Have a nice day.

I buy ready to wear shirt and trousers. Tailors in the U.S. are very expensive.

I always buy off the rack. My husband has to have his clothes altered because he has one leg a little shorter than the other.

mY husband has ready to werar shirts & trousers. It would be too difficult & costly to get custom stitched ones. In Australia, it is generally cheaper to buy clothes ready to wear, than get them custon wear. Althugh of course, there may be special occassions when having a tailor made outfit is more suitable, such as a wedding.

contrary to what it is australia, here in India, it is generally cheaper to have your clothes stitched as compared to buying ready-to-wear clothes of well known brand.

now a days every body is in hurry... if we purchase something.. we wish to use that... that time itself... because of these reasons only now a days we prefer readymade clothes...which we can trail that time and can use instantly... but in some case i love to wear stiched clothes also... like in some marriage or in some parties... in which i have enough time to plan for my dresses....

I don't need to custom stitched by a tailor. Because it's much more expensive. I can wear the shirts and trousers from the store and they are fine for me. My size isn't special.

All of my upper body clothes like t-shirts, polo shirts, even barongs, are all ready=to-wear. When it come to pants however, it is all custom made. I prefer custom made pants because I want lose trousers. Even my denim pants are custom tailored for a lose fitting. I am not made for tight fitting trousers.

I purchase readymade t-shirts and also jeans. Usually t-shirts are ok but jeans need to be altered. Purchasing shirts or trousers are always done by giving the shirt piece to the tailor to make the exact stiching.

I prefer anything that is ready to wear so that I don't go through so much to get them made. It is alot of work and I am not up for it at all.

Here in the US it's extremely expensive to have clothes custom made. While I'm sure they would be more comfortable, and would fit better, I just can't afford a tailor. Everything I buy is ready-to-wear.

Ready to wear. Custom ones have a nice feel but I prefer to go and grab a pair without having to wait and go through having to be a dummy. lol ~Joey

I always prefer Ready made Clothes than the Tailor made Clothes. Because I can choose them immediately and I can buy them within an hour or so. But for tailor made clothes, I need visit a tailor, give him my measurements and wait for few days, for the clothes. If after that, if the clothes doesnt fit me, then its one again cycle to Tailor. Ready made clothes are the best for me.
