Where do I start? I don't want to this sound like a rant, but I am quite miffed. I happened upon a site, which I will not name, only because I would like to spare others the same experience that I just had. This site boasts that it will pay you for writing articles. You have to start out small, and work yourself up, sounded good to me, I write for a couple of different companies. So I apply, give a writing example and get accepted, I am thrilled! I take on an assignement in reference to a specific breed of dog and write 10 articles 500 words, single space, spell check the darn things 3 times, oh I forgot, Roman Times, 12 font. I look around the site for additional guidelines, there are none, so I upload a few at a time , and before I could send the rest I am getting emails, " there is only 5 articles here!" In my mind and talking to my computer, I am saying give me a darn break already, my God. So I finish uploading the rest of the files, and before I have a second to breath, here comes more emails, " you didn't use the right font and there are horrible spelling and grammar errors" and this was the icing on the cake ' YOU CUT AND PASTE THE ARTICLES THIS IS A NO-NO".. OK, now I was ticked! And what made me even more angry was when I found that these emails were not private! They were plastered all over the forum, that every other person submitting work could see! So I figured since they felt they should humiliate me I would do so likewise. I informed them, yes I did use Roman #2 font thank you very much, I spelled check the articles not once but three times, thank you again, no this was not cut and pasted, I am sorry that if you write facts that there is going to be other articles with those facts, facts are facts, you cannot change them, and anyone writing an article with regards to a specific topic probably will include those facts as well! I told the company to take a hike ( so much for the money they were suppose to pay, but honestly I am not that desperate for money to take that kind of embarrassment via the internet. Interesting, that after I told them to take a hike, they sent me a " private " email saying their Word program may have had a glitch in it and oh yes, by the way, your right facts are facts.. also something I find interesting is that only after I pointed out they had no guidelines, they are working on " making some up". What a waste of time! Please take a second and tell me if I was right or wrong?

well i agree with you myself and personally wouldnt want to work for some place that was going to be that annoying in the first place so i would say you are way better off without them ..can't blame you for being miffed..I know i would be also..good luck in finding a place that will treat you right ..because i am sorry nobody even an unexperienced writer like myself needs that kind of stuff...

Thanks for the replies so far, sometimes it helps to get others opinions. And I agree it maybe that they are new or something, otherwise, they should or would have had guidelines. Well, it wasn't a lot of time I spent, but I could have been doing something more constructive! Be careful when you accept assignments on line is my suggestion.

You were right. What a load of crap. I recently submitted a t'shirt design to a company that was promiseing to pay $50 for accepted designs plus extra if you can refer business to the t'shirt page. I have not heard anything yet I figure they will steal my idea and I'll see it on the website and they will deny that it's mine. Figures. And there is no way to copywrite your stuff before sending, not that I'm aware of anyway, so it's a gamble every time.

You were deffiently right i would be livid if it was me , especially you spent all that time writing the article and you get a automated response saying you basically send them a hug load of rubish when you didnt id never do anything to do with them again .
