Or post a photo. Tell me what your home is like. My home was built in 1963 and is weatherboard and tile. There are 3 bedrooms, one of which I use as an office, a bathroom, separate loo, kitchen, living/dining room, a loungeroom and a small entry. The floors are polished wood and I have rugs everywhere. Each outer wall has a huge window, some have two, the lounge room has a sliding glass door and 3 windows. There is also a sliding glass door in the living room, both these doors lead out to the large verandah where most of my garden is in pots. The weather conditions are very harsh and the water quality poor. By having them on the verandah under cover they get some protection and in the heat of summer I group them forming micro climates. There is a little back porch and steps leading to the laundry and clothesline and there is a decent sized garage, and 2 huge rainwater tanks. I have about a half acre block and I'm trying to grow some trees out the back for shade. The whole back yard is fenced and this keeps the animals safe from cars and other dogs. There's just me living there with my dog Lucy, my cat Banjo and my goat Pickles. Lucy will be 6 in Sept, Banjo will be 1 in October and Pickles will be 1 in December. If the photo works, it's a deliberately untidy looking place as this is the "before" photo. I'm having cladding done and will post a new photo when it's finished. It doesn't matter where you live or with whom. Just share with us all so we can have more of an idea abiut each other. Over to you folks.

Hi Mrs Tickle, I have a 1914s house on a hill, it is the oldest house on the street. It has huge big ceilings, 4 bedrooms, 2bathrooms a huge veranda a huge kitchen. It is also weaterboard and wood floor boards the bathroom is made out of slate. It was very run down when we brought it and has a lot to go but its lovely my dream house. It still has a outside laudry.lol The block is 1416squ mtrs and is backed on to a hill. So we have a view out to the cost in front and hills at the back. We got it really cheap and have done a lot to it since we moved in three years ago. We still have a lot to do but I just love it. 1 rainwater tank a chook pen and a large shed. We also have a spare room at the back which we call the lodge. It needs a bit of work but will be our guest room when its finished with kitchen in it.

Well my home was built in 1955. It's on a slab and it's rather nice given it's age. Coming in the front door you will walk into my living room. Off to the right is a dinning room with a doublewide entrance door. If you walk straight you will run into my kitchen and off to the side from the kitchen is my laundry room, with a white sliding door to hide the backed up laundry, LOL. Back to the front door, now you go left and you will come to my bathroom first. If you keep going you will come to my girls toy room, pass that on the other side is my computer room. Keep going and on one side is my bedroom and across the hall is the girls room. We have a large back yard with a pool, play house, 2.5 car garage and a trampoline. In the front yard we have two large tress, don't know what they are and a bird bath. I have a large porch with 4 chairs and 2 small tables, with 3 standing ash trays.

Well I'm at work, so posting photos isn't really an option, - but to draw you a picture in your mind. Our house is a typical English, 3-bedroomed semi. Downstairs is a hallway, a large lounge/dining room, and a kitchen. The lounge has French windows leading to a conservatory are, and thence down to a patio and to the garden. The garden is quite large, and full of trees, and slopes down to the woods that border the River Thames. Upstairs, our house has three bedrooms and a bathroom. We also have an ensuite bathroom with our bedroom. The second bedroom is decorated as a guest bedroom, the third bedroom is quite small and generally used as an office for my partner, who often brings work home at weekends and in the evening. The house is decorated in a Spanish-style - quite open with light oolours, and a lot of white to make it look bigger and brighter. There is lots of natural light, and I have pot plants and flowers everywhere. The lounge is predominantly blue, our bedroom is shades of peach, apricot and cream, and the spare bedroom is in shades of pale green and naturel wood. I share it with my partner and our 5 cats.

front of our rickety old house - LOL it needs work, but its a decent size, with 50 acres of land and I love it!
Our house is a big old farmhouse that was built in 1875...there were updates done over the yrs obviously but the most recent before we moved in was in the mid 1980s (kitchen)...When we moved in A LOT of work needed to be done, upstairs there were 5 bedrooms + a large room which is now my bedroom...one of the smaller bdrms was INFESTED with bees:-0 and the woman who lived here had the entire upstairs closed off so the bee problem continued to get worse as time went on...the only bathoroom in the place was and still is quite disgusting (the walls behind the tile in the tub have rotted and how they managed to bath in there every day was beyond me....the kitchen was a disgusting mess as well..I had to scrub the kitchen counter 3 TIMES with Comet BEFORE cleaning it:-/ and this woman had a 12 yr old son living with her..how she fixed meals is beyond me....the oven and cupboards were nasty, the yard was a mess....this place was just brutal when we moved in here...many of the windows were broken or couldnt even be opened up, screens with huge holes in them....It was nasty....BUT..... the first thing we did when we moved in was gutted three of the bdrms on the west side of the house and made them into two rooms..One will be my husbands bdrm and the other is a HUGE bathroom complete with ceramic tiles and a larger sized (length and depth) jacuzzi tub etc (he had to install the wiring, plumming and everything since there was none up there)..The second thing we did was put in brand new windows on the entire upper floor (not cheap since they are 3'x6' and there are 15 of them up there LOL)....then on the East side my husband redid the two smaller rooms for my kids and my room (which is huge 15x19) is in the middle and connects to both the kids rooms...My room isnt done yet other than the windows....Then he installed a new heater for the upstairs and a second water tank..... Downstair we have 2 living rooms, the breakfast room which is currently my husbands bdrm, the crappy yucky bathroom that was already here, the kitchen and another small bedroom which is my kids tv room.... We need to pretty much gut the place bit by bit and we are planning on putting in hardwood floors, a brand new kitchen YAY!!! (with an island for me DOUBLE YAY), we're goin to get new windows for downstairs, tear down the three porches and HOPEFULLY build a wrap-around on the front and side and then a big deck off the back door..new doors, siding, gut and redo the downstairs bathroom etc etc and of course landscaping... so the place looks like hell from the outside LOL and the wallpaper, carpets etc leave ALOT to be desired (whoever papered this place needs a smack LOL) but slowly we're getting it done....biggest problem is the money...alot of the windows and doors for example need to be custom build because of the age of the house...plus to redo the floors on both levels the floor itself needs to be leveled out etc etc....its coming along though, slowly but surely..

I don't have a photo of my home to post (yet). But I'll describe it to you as best I can. My home was built in the late 1800s, and it started out with two rooms...the living area and the kitchen. Later walls were put up for the bedroom on the north side of the house, and it is a very small room...too claustrophobic for me. The other bedroom and the bathroom were added on later. That half of the house has a cement foundation, while the original half has all wood. The bathroom is fairly small, with the water heater in one corner. The second bedroom is a rectangular shape and my king sized bed takes up one whole end. There are two windows in the living room, one in each bedroom, one in the bathroom, and one at each end of the kitchen/wash room. There is a nice big porch across the front of the house with a sidewalk leading from the steps to the grass outside the fence. The front yard itself is decent size, and there are two side yards. The back yard is huge, and fenced in. There is room for our boat, pool, and shed with lots of room left over for the dogs to run around. My least favorite part about the house is that the color of the shingle style siding is salmon pink! Yuck. But it's a pretty cozy home. Oh, I almost forgot...there's also the attic that has two rooms that have been drywalled and carpeted and that's where my son likes to "live" when he is down from his dad's. LOL

I'll try to get a picture of it with the roses in bloom in the front and side yard. They make the yard look wonderful (yes...I'm bragging on them. LOL). That artist's house sounds very interesting indeed. But watermelon? That's right there with my salmon pink. LOL

I'd love to see a photo...remember to put one in your profile when you get it and let me know. It sounds great. I particulaly like the sound of the attic and grounds, I hope you have a ride on mower. I'm curious to see your pink shingle as well. There's an artist here in town who has painted his house in a bright watermelon pink. Sounds gross..eh? He has lots of trees and the house itself is ordinary so the colour "works" somehow. He boasts about the inside having all different coloured walls but to me all the different colours make it look like a childrens playhouse.

My house - The front of my house
Hi MsTickle, My house was built in 1953. Its a small two bedroom house in Tacoma Wa. USA. We bought it in 2000 and have made a few improvments since them. We have a fenced in back yard that my dogs love. I think I'll probably stay here for the rest of my life just because I hate moveing. We have two dogs and two cats that stay with us and all my wife's kids are grown up and on their own. Heres a pic of the front of my house. Take care, Terry

A photo of me near my bedroom (before paint job) - A photo of me
I have lived in this apartment practically all my life..but one day do hope to move when I become a successful photographer and writer (and get my plane..hehe..remember that one??) The apartment I live in is a glorified studio really but nice and airy and roomy for me...The bedroom which is really an alcove with just an archway is the most decorative of all rooms and would definitely know an artistic person lived here...the bedroom is painted in a beautiful shade of turquoise blue (I mixed myself) on opposite walls, while a lovely deep violet is painted on the other walls...the living room has my..uh, correction my cats sofa, next to it is my large computer desk which is near a window---it's painted with white on opposite walls and aqua on the others (love color) ...I have bare wood floors...took up the carpeting long time ago, and find it so much faster to clean now...no more vacuuming--all around hanging on the walls are posters (Lord of the Rings and Chronicles of Narnia)--plus framed paintings I've done, and some of my photos ...The kitchen is small but painted a bright sunny yellow that is so cheerful when the sun comes in...the bathroom is painted a light lavendar and turquoise...Here's a picture of me at the entrance of my bedroom...this picture was taken before I painted it the current colors--that bookcase is devoted to an almost Lord of the Rings thing...with all of Tolkien's books plus my gift set editions of the Extended versions of all three movies...AT the LOTR fanatic plaza which is a role playing site I'm a wizard there...(hehe)...you can be a Hobbit, Elf, minion of Mordor etc....so it's fitting that above me is a painting of a wizard..the room does have a magical feel to it..and my favorite room--That white table I'm sitting on is where I keep all my art supplies

My bedroom and my dog, Lucy. - Walls are deep purple with burgundy curtains and white lace underneath.
The colours sound fabulous. I love colour as well. My place is a soft apricot all through with white ceilings and a soft grey trim. The colour I've predominately introduced is blue. I painted my room a deep purple and added burgundy stonewash curtains with white lace undercurtain. The bed head and lamps are a lovely off white. I picked up a tapestry at St Vinnies the other day of magnolias on a burgundy background....no guesses a to where I'll be hanbging that. It cost me $8. Yay!

The building i am in was built in 1933, or that is the date on the top of the building. It used to be the main store in town, and quite big. At the front is a cafe that i am doing up to hopefully open soon. At the back it has been made into a 4 bedroom house. Has open plan kitchen, dining, lounge room. Bathroom is in need of repair. We are renovating the bathroom soon, as it isnt very good. The floor has had it. The laundry is in the bathroom at the moment, but we are going to build in an area at the back and put it there. Lots of work. But it will get there. We have a massive shed. It is gigantic. Even has a loft in it. I have never been up on it, though. Dont like hieghts. Thats about it. Best wishes. I dont know how to download a pic on a response.

My House - Originally built in 1918, not a log home but everyone thinks it is...
Our house was built in 1918, and I think around 1997 the previous owners remodeled it-it may have been remodeled earlier as well, I have a feeling the original house was a lot smaller. We had to have some work done in the crawlspace underneath the house. The front half of the house is actually supported by large trees cut in half, like what a log home would be made of lol. The guy said it was safe, looked good, just recommended we add a little reinforcements eventually. It looks like a log cabin, but it's not, it has cedar siding on it. I think it's about 2200 sq ft, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths(loos), family room, kitchen, dining area in the kitchen, big front hallway, laundry room, and a large attic space that if it wasn't too hot would be a good bedroom. It's on about 5.3 acres, but only about 2 acres is cleared, the previous owner let the land go, and we need to buy something like a bush hog to clear the brush. We're at the top of a hill, lots of rolling hills here, it's beautiful:)

Mine - This is my house
Me post a photo? Okay I guess I'll run outside and take a few of my house. We bought the house in 2003 after many years of renting. My home was built the same year that I was born, 1954. It's classified as a 3 BR. All on the main floor. There is one BR in the basement but as the window is just the standard basement little window it can't be classified a BR. One bedroom I use as my office. The yards measurements are as follows, front yard is 50 feet long and 60 feet wide. Back yard is 85 feet long and 75 feet wide that's including the 2 car garage building. We had a deck installed on the front 2 years ago as the cement steps were falling apart. Inside we have an attic. Which we have never been in yet. Hahaha. We have an unfinished basement with one room finished off as a BR. We only have one bathroom. Uggghhh! Hahaha. The front yard as you have seen is loaded with very attractive eye appeal like the Snow On The Mountain which is that green/white plant seen in the photo. In this area are Hostas, Lilies, Columbine, Jacobs Ladder, Lily Of The Valleys and few other plants. Alongside the deck is also loaded with eye attracting flowers, plants. Walking out the Dining Room we have a cement porch no rails with a cement slab about 10 feet by 5 feet for opur Patio Table, and grill. The back yard has 2 apple treees, grape vine, our veggie garden and many flowers planted all over ahgain for eye appeal. We had to install a 6 foot high cedar fence when we got our dog Buster. Well that's about it for my little place I call home. I love it and take care of the yard and gardens daily as you most know. Enjoy. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We don't have a house just like that, what we have is very small for us. I am sending my kids to school and it's really hard to live in a small house really.
