When you wake up too early do you go back to sleep?

Sleeping Beauty! - Too comfy to wake up?

This very seldom happens to me and I really hate when it does. If I wake up before 7am that's way too early for me to start my day yet I don't fall back to sleep easily. I usually spend more time thinking about what I should do than I should. There are people who get right up with no thought of the time even if they realize it's too early, and then there are those who will just lay in bed until it's time to get up. I've read that it's better to get right up rather than try to go back to sleep. If your awake then you probably had all the sleep you need. Which are you? Do you get up as soon as you open your eyes or do you stay in bed and try to go back to sleep?

No, I can't unless it's still dark outside and maybe then I could still just lay down my bed and wait a little until daylight comes. :-)

It's funny but I seldom wake up when it's still dark. I'm sure if I did I would go right back to sleep or watch tv.

yes in some cases this may apply. If there's nothing to do, then why not sleep again right? but if there is something that we need to do, then get up! :)

I won't have as much problem going back to sleep. For one, I hate waking up early in the morning, I'm definitely not a morning person and I am usually lazy and lacks energy in the morning. So going back to sleep would come naturally, except if I am supposed to go somewhere and I am afraid that I might sleep in and be late, then I would have trouble going back to sleep. I would probably lie in bed but I won't be back sound asleep, will probably just lie down and let time pass by before getting up and getting ready.

I have a bad habit of doing that.I might get up and go to the bathroom and then crawl back in bad.I proably shouldn't do that but I do it just about everytime.

When this thing happens to me, it would be hard for me to go back to sleep then. But I don't want to get up just yet, so what I do is just lay there in bed. And just feel the wonderful feeling of stretching.

If it's 4am or 5am I'll try to get back in sleep, but if it's just half an hour earlier I'll loll around in bed till it's time to get up.

First I have to fall asleep that alone is a battle. Then yes, if I am something wakes me up, that is it, I am up. Hubby has the worse habit of making a ton of noise at 5:30am getting ready for work. So that's the time I am up, even if I had only been asleep for an hour! Insomnia is rough people.

Your so right. Insomnia is a terrible thing to have to live with. If it wasn't for my medication I don't think I would ever sleep.

If I wake up early I can usually get back to sleep without too much trouble. If I can't get back to sleep, then I will usually get up and try and get some things done before the kids get up.

It's amazing how much you can get done while the kids are sleeping, lol!

When there are kids involved it's always so much easier to start the day while they are sleeping. I remember those days...lol...

i absolutely HATE when i wake up too early. i don't know where you read that it is better to get up because you probably had all the sleep you need. That is simply untrue. i stay up till 2 and 3 in the morning. i awaken constantly durring the night. i can go to sleep and wake 30 minutes later. Do you think that is enough sleep?

Everyone is different and whatever their body needs for sleep is what they should get, one way or another.

During the week I have to be up at 6:30, so if I wake up before that it is very rare. On the weekends I try to sleep in. If I wake up early on the weekends I try very hard to go back to sleep. Usually I will lay there and think about all the stuff I need to get done for the day so I can't get back to sleep~ then I just get mad at myself.

It is a good thing to have a sleep schedule. The only problem with it is when you want to sleep in, your body is telling you it's time to get up.

I think it's great having a set time to wake up. Maybe if I did my sleeping pattern would change.

I can go back to sleep depending on my mood. My normal wake up time is about three thirty in the morning. I have to get up to allow the dogs to go out for a little bit. If it is a work day then I will get dressed. If its not a work day then I will go back to bed to get a little more sleep. There are times that I am not able to go back to sleep though.

Isn't it so hard when you want to go back to sleep and can't? I find that to be one of the most disturbing parts of life.

I usually go back to sleep, which explains why I'm always late for work.hehe But I'm trying to get rid of that habit. It's not easy, I'm telling you.hehe

No, oversleeping is not an easy habit to break. It has to be worked on for awhile and then you will get it. Good luck with that!

Nope. Because I can't go back to sleep once I've already awaken. Which sucks for me because sometimes I'd feel really tired when I get to work if I wake too early.. I spend time on mt computer if I wake up too early.

I usually just get up. I have to admit that there are some occations that I just lay there and that is usually only when I am not feeling well. For the most part I get up and get my day started. I find if I stay in bed after I am awake I will end up with a headacke. I am usually up by seven but this morning I was up a little after six. I got up and came here to my lot to see what was happening this early.

Good morning to you then. Great way to start the day isn't it? That's usually where I find myself first thing also.

I get so overwhelmed thinking of the things I have to do during the day that I try not to think about it. The best thing for me to do is log onto mylot.

I usually find my ferrets staring at me from their cage wanting me to wake up and let them out for the day. Once they are out I have no choice but get up.

This morning I was up much earlier than I needed to be. I tried to go back to sleep, but after about 20 minutes I could see that is just wasn't happening. So instead, I got out of bed, and puton the morning news. while I watched I worked on a baby hat that I am knitting for a friend who is pregnant. Then I made my lunch so I could bring it with me to work. I usually bring my lunch anyway, but I try to make it the night before, last night I was just too lazy though. By then it was time to get ready for work...it actually kinda felt good and get some stuff done though. That baby hat isn't going to make it's self I suppose :-)

Well it really all depends on what time it is and how tired I am. If it is really early and I am still very tired I will go back to sleep for a little bit. But if I wake up and can't go back to sleep, I will go on ahead and get up. I know how you feel tho. There are many times that I do wake up and still feel tired but for the life of me can't get back to sleep.

There's nothing I hate worse than tossing and turning trying to get back to sleep. I figure if that's going to be the case I may as well get up.

Yes I do. I love to sleep in the morning and I do it evan if it is for half an hour. On the contrary, at night, I'm never sleepy and I never have been so I always go to bed late.

Everyone has their own sleeping patterns and whatever works is what we should go with.
