Hello fellow my lotters...
I read this book Tuesday with Morrie..if you have read this lemme know, please post your email address and ill send you a copy of it. Im posting few quotes on the book that touched my life, changed my way of thinking and the way at loook at life..
Its a story about life, relationship, love, even death.
The one that really moved me is :
"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."
and another is :
"The culture doesn't encourage you to think about such things until you're about to die. We're so wrapped up with egotistical things, career, family, having enough money, meeting the mortgage, getting a new car, fixing the radiator when it breaks-we're involved in trillions of little acts just to keep going. So we don't get into the habit of standing back and looking at our lives and saying, Is this all? Is this all I want? Is something missing?"
please lemme know what you think about those qoutes and how true that it? if you dont believe in it..you can still tell me and why?
thanks!

I have never read that book, it either came out when my husband was suffering with ALS, or shortly afterwards. The year he was ill was such a learning journey. I always thought we appreciated each other, and had a good life, but this was a time when even that was polished up, and made more beautiful, even though it was hard. Some day I may feel ready to read Tuesdays With Morrie, thank you for posting the quotes. They will make us think.

I am not ready to read it now, but I know I can get it at the library. I feel sad that not many people are responding to your very thoughtful post, but maybe it will pick up. Those are valuable considerations that many do not face on a regular basis.
