James Stevenson aka Jared Casey leaving Passions

James Stevenson is leaving Passions, as he isn't going to renew his contract. This was expected, as he told many people during an online chat that he would leave when the show wasn't going to be on NBC. I don't think he will have trouble getting a new acting position, as he was the only person nominated for the soap opera awards on any NBC Soap.
He isn't on very much and his storyline has been weak lately. I think Passions is losing a talented actor. The writers just don't want him on the screen.

I think he is a good actor, but the part he plays is pretty weak. I think he will do well somewhere else.

Thanks for the reply. I agree the part is weak; however, many people started in soap operas. Its a helpful way to get into the business, as its hard to get noticed. Many people spend years waiting to get any role and his first one nominated for an award. Several other people have left to get big roles, so hope he is able to use this experience in a big way.

although he is a good actor he was put into a part that was going to be put on the back burner because even though him and tereasa are married the hot topic is tereasa and ethan and we already knew that it didnt matter if either one of them were married they would find a way to be together. I wonder are they replacing him with a different actor or are they cutting the part out completly?

My understanding was he wanted to work more and when Passions moves the show will only be new Monday through Thursday, so the cast will be on the air less often. Several people already know they will be off the show and weren't offered the chance to stay with the show. James didn't think he was going to be replaced and I agree don't think its going to happen.

i gotta say i couldn't care less. that whole plot line isn't that interesting. i mean it's not even like it's keeping theresa away from ethan so it's almost pointless for him to be there. i understand he's keeping theresa from marrying ethan and the whole theresa and ethan sneaking around when they shouldn't thing keeps going. but whatever. btw, where is passions moving to? i'm so happy it'll still be on air!
