Where did this annoying tune in my head come from

I am suffering big time here. ALL DAY a song called "on the good ship lollipop" has been going round and round my head and I can't get the thing out. I haven't heard or seen anything about Shirley Temple, the child star who performs this song but it is driving me insane!
Where did it come from?
Any sensible and safe ideas on how I can get rid of this tune?

Umm, that is a very kind offer, but no thanks, the thought of you singing heaven knows what in a duet with Shirley Temple is truly terrifying! I do not want to even begin to imagine what that would sound like!
You are very kind, but sing to Gissi, he can fight back!

I thought that was the general idea of singing to Gissi, to get some peace or to get the pillow to yourself?

Ha ha, good idea about the lollipop and what an excellent excuse I have! The tune has changed today but I seem to be having a week of this, sigh.

Great, now I have that tune stuck in my head. Usually, it gets replaced with another tune unless someone else brings it up again. It is kinda annoying, isn't it?

ooooops! I am so sorry about that. It really IS an annoying song too.
I got rid of it and now I am stuck with the "G** Gordons"! I don't know what is happening to my head this week, all I know is that I am getting annoying tunes stuck in there.
Mylot won't let me put the whole word, sorry about that but I am not being rude, it really is the name of the tune and it was named many years before g** took on more meanings.
